Library [4-01]

George had a very odd song stuck in his head.  He wasn't quite at the point of gouging his ears out, but he was starting to think mayhap he should beat his head into a brick wall. Twould feel so nice when he stopped.

For now he was librarying it up.  Except when he wasn't.

It was a much more uncertain Karla who popped her head into the library today. Rather than a very odd song stuck in her head, Karla had a mantra: Please don't let Raven have talked to George yesterday. Please don't let Raven have talked to George yesterday.

Of course, even if the Darkness was kind and Raven and George had missed each other yesterday, there was still all that lingering embarrassment over her own behavior under the influence of the adulterated brownies.

So, yeah...uncertain. "Hello?" she called, tentatively.

"Hey George," Karla said, giving him a wave. He didn't sound like he'd been asked about doing more than kissing and then felt to make sure his answer was true so...maybe no Raven? "How've you been? Raven didn't stop by to see you, did she?"

So subtle, our Karla.

Let's see, Karla could either lie, which she wasn't all that great at, or she could tell an abbreviated version of the truth. "Something we were joking about at Magic Reserves," Karla said, Totally Sounding Casual. "One of those things that's funny when you're there--" and high "--but you realize is a horribly bad idea later." When the high had worn off.

"I brought lunch!"

George might notice a distinct lack of pastries in lunch today. Karla wasn't trusting them yet.

Karla's face completely suffused with color. "The part where she was going to come talk to you," she admitted. Before attempting to distract him with lunch. "Oh look! Fries!"

"Completely shocked," Karla assured him. "I hadn't the least idea they were here."

It was a clever ruse?

"Thanks," Karla said, taking the fry. "Ermm..." she blushed again. "More than kissing."

She immediately grabbed her soda and took a long sip, hoping that might make her blush less.

Nope.

"From what I've gathered, there's a lot between kissing and acts that lead directly to my Virgin Night," Karla said, looking intently into the lunch bag. Or at the bookshelves. Or at her shoes. Or anywhere that wasn't George. "But I wouldn't want to pressure you into do anything you didn't want to do, so she was going to ask and see how you felt."

Henry was, and he was reading stuff about softball in hopes it'd give him the first clue what he was supposed to be doing Saturday.

He still wasn't sure why he'd signed on. It was like Deadpool had dazzled him.
