World Mythology -- Third Period -- Monday

Ghanima had flung open all the classroom windows today, letting in as much fresh air as possible. The desks were gone, replaced with the large fluffy pillows that the students most likely knew to associate with a movie day. Today, however, they'd only be half-right.

"Hello, students," she said once everyone had arrived. "I ~~handwavily~~ was away last week, just getting in this morning, and I understand you had an unfortunate encounter."

"So today, we'll be watching a movie, and then you'll grab some weapons and go outside to reenact it as you like. And yes, you may keep your swords."

[OOC: Going up early in case work eats me. ~~Wait for the fluffy~~ OCD is on the loose!]

There's no lecture, really, so just sit back, relax, and watch the film.

Raven found some parts of the film very interesting. She looked away during the fighting scenes, however. And she couldn't help but think that perhaps the poor Kraken would have been a much more peaceful creature if it wasn't chained up and forced to kill on command. Poor thing.

Jaina still had her stupid sling on her arm, and was in a fantastic mood since everything still hurt, but she was entirely grateful for a chance to do nothing.

Oh, don't think Tahiri didn't notice the sling, and don't think Jaina wasn't going to get a distinct frown for it, even though she wasn't asking outright. Movie day or not, talking in Master Atreides's classes still seemed like a bad idea.

Jaina caught the frown, and made a face back at her. She'd learned it from her father, and it clearly said It's not my fault!

Yes, Tahiri was very familiar with that expression, having seen it from Han, her Jaina, and Anakin on multiple occasions.

She shook her head, grinning slightly in a way that was meant to say -- affectionately -- Why do I put up with you Solos again?

~~Cuz they were pretty.~~ Jaina went to shrug.

To her credit, the pain didn't exactly reach her face, except for the way she sucked in her lips to not curse in class.

~~Well, yeah, there was that.~~ And that got the frown from Tahiri again, just for a second. Could she help it if she kind of preferred not seeing Jaina injured on a semi-frequent basis?

At least she'd be graduating soon? Jaina rolled her eyes, her ow way of saying Okay, that was stupid.

That probably hadn't been in question...

Ben waved his non-slinged up hand at her with a rueful smile. What'd you do?

Jaina had never been very good at telepathic conversations, which was why she went to write a note... and guess which shoulder which busted.

So she just moved closer. "Hi, I had a giant lizard try to drown me," she greeted him with a whisper.

"A giant one?" Ben pouted. "That's so much better than mine."

"Giant," she nodded. "It got taken out by the giant squid, even. How're you doing?"

"Fine," Ben said. "Annoyed more than anything. I thought I'd outgrown getting knocked out. It's been almost a year."

Jaina paused. "I don't think you outgrow that?"

Annja was quiet as she watched the movie. She was worn out and aching a little, but there was no way she would even start to fall asleep in this class.

Jacob was here. Sure, sure.

Whether his eyes were open was another thing and whether he wasn't going to snore was yet another one.

Ben probably shouldn't be out of the clinic yet, but stubborn Skywalkers were stubborn. And annoying. The nurses were glad to see him go.

His left arm slinged up so he wouldn't pull the stitches on his chest and shoulder out, Ben closed his eyes for a good chunk of the movie and practiced his healing trance.

Or napped. It was hard to tell the difference.

Yeah, the sling was getting a glare. As was the male wearing it.

Ben borrowed Jaina's It's not my fault! look and tried it on Karla.

Karla just added a raised eyebrow to the glare.

*You are friends with Healers, you know,* she snarked, ignoring the face that she'd been a stuffed animal all weekend. *What happened?*

Tiny rancor, Ben sent. I wasn't as fast as I should have been. Not a big deal.

Because underselling the injury to a Healer would work, Ben.

All right, the glare was rapidly transforming into a bitchface. *You are aware that I can see what's wrong with you, right?* She rolled her eyes and amended, *Well, what's wrong with your arm anyway.*

Whatever was wrong with his brain where he thought he could get away with underselling his injuries was probably beyond the abilities of the best Black Widows.

Joolushko, as always, was pleased for an excuse to watch a movie. And this one had some particularly, ah, charming special effects.
