Library, Monday [March 22]

After a normal (by most people's standards, not Gabrielle's) and relatively quiet weekend, arriving at the library bright and early was really not much of a hardship. Her usual morning list of tasks was not much of a hardship either -- except for the copy of Care and Feeding of Your Chimera that didn't seem to want to be reshelved, and insisted on following her around everywhere.

"You're going to get bored just sitting there," she warned it once she got back to the desk and it hunkered down near her feet with the occasional hopeful rustle of pages.

". . . fine, fine. Have it your way."

Well, the ... event Henry had spent all of yesterday waiting for had finally happened. He'd ended up on the shore of Lake Michigan, in winter, in the middle of the night.

He'd found a blanket and a boat to climb into that kept him from hypothermia, but he was still glorying in the warm, dry feeling of his clothes and the air in the library as he went about his tasks today.
