Although he'd been aware of the date earlier in the week, Sam had woken up late today, and in his rush to get to the library on time, he'd forgotten that it was St. Patrick's Day until he was already at work without a single piece of green clothing on. He didn't think it was a big deal, but the library seemed to have a different idea, and Sam realized his mistake right around the time he went to put the returned books back and found that every time he picked a book up, he felt like he was getting pinched.

If the computer tried to hurt him while he checked his e-mail, there would be some serious bitchfacing going on.

"I have a suit for every occasion," Chuck said. "I don't wear them for the whole CEO thing. I wear them because I like to."

"I swear, you make it sound like you were born and put right into a suit," Sam said with a laugh.

Chuck smiled slightly and almost looked like it was embarrassing for him to share this. "My dad might've lied to me and said that all kids wear suits to kindergarten. Kind of stuck after that."

"You're lying," Sam said, looking surprised. "Tell me you're drunk and lying to me. You didn't even get to dress like a kid?"

Chuck shrugged. "This is the same man who told me that blue chip stocks were great birthday presents. It's not that big of a deal."

"But you can't play around in suits," Sam said. "I feel like you missed out on something, although I don't know if I can put it into words."

Chuck felt he had played around plenty in his lifetime but probably not in the way Sam meant. "Would you like me to go roll around in the ballpit or something?"

"Not as drunk as you are," Sam teased. "You might get a tear in your suit."

"Fiiiiiiiine," Chuck drawled out. "I'll recapture my missed childhood at another time."

"You'll have to wear jeans for it though," Sam said. "The ballpit demands fun, comfortable clothing."

Chuck groaned dramatically. "Do I have to?"

"You'd really go into a ballpit in your suit?" Sam asked.

"I have done it before," Chuck said matter-of-factly. "Hannibal said I wouldn't so naturally that meant I had to. I'll admit, the suit did make it harder to move but I managed."

"Okay, let me rephrase that - you don't think it'd be more fun to go into the ballpit without your suit on?" Sam asked.

"I'm not even sure how one has fun in a ballpit," Chuck said honestly. He just went in there to prove a point the last time.

"You throw balls at people and act like a five year old. It's therapeutic," Sam explained.

Chuck looked like that was the dumbest thing he'd ever heard. "This seems like a situation designed solely so you can laugh at me."

"What, it's not like I wouldn't be in there with you," Sam said. "You need to have some fun before you go off to be a CEO."

Chuck sighed slightly and realized that maybe Sam had a point. "Okay, fine, I'll do it. Wearing jeans, even."

"Really? You're not going to pretend to have been too drunk to remember this conversation later?"

"Really. You say when and I'll show up and act like a child with you," Chuck promised. "But I am gonna go ahead and blame drunkenness for this--"

And then he leaned over and pinched Sam. Don't think he didn't notice the lack of green, Winchester.

"Hey!" Sam said, rubbing where he'd been pinched. "Screw you, I'm not Irish."

"Doesn't matter. St. Patrick's Day rules apply to everyone," Chuck said. "It's in the Bible or something."
