people suck except when they don't | thursday | period 2 | february 11
Class today was being held in the Danger Shop. Loki knew he could have easily modeled this lesson around something else but the Danger Shop was fun and this lesson proved perfect for this place.
"Welcome back," Loki said once everyone had filed in and found a spot to sit or stand. "You may notice we're in a bit of a different area today. It'll become apparent why shortly. Today, we're talking about something we've all dealt with either by experiencing it or being the one that started it. Backstabbers and betrayers. Oh yes. Straight up, if you've dealt with this, you know it fucking sucks. You're going about your life happily as can be and then someone you thought was a friend, lover, what the fuck ever, turns on you and stabs you in the back. They cheat on you, they spread rumors about you, they try to kill you, the undermine you, the list can go fucking on and on."
And, if you were like Loki, you kept going back to the person that did this because you were a whore for angst.
"Sometimes, you're a big enough person to forgive them," Loki said but his voice clearly said he didn't think this should happen. "If you're that person, then you deserve a lot of fucking accolades or another round of getting your heart stomped on. And really, unless you're some fucking super sleuth, it's going to be hard to prevent this from happening because hardly anyone sees something like this coming. Un-fucking-fortunately. So, it happens and you're just left dealing with the aftermath. The test here is how you deal with that aftermath. The easiest thing to do would be to take some fucking revenge. Beat the shit out of that person, hit them with a car, something. You're going to feel that urge, I can almost guarantee it. Sometimes, it's not the best thing to do but it's most commonly the kneejerk reaction. Other people will ignore it. They're so desperate for friends and/or approval that they will let themselves be used as a doormat."
Loki was not a doormat, shut up, Bartleby.
"Other people will mope for fucking ages, both for attention and because they don't know how to deal with the situation. They lost someone close to them and they're going to think it's their fault. So, that's where our activities come in today. I want to hear if you've ever been stabbed in the back or if you've been betrayed. No need to get into specifics but I do want to know if you went the revenge route, the ignoring it route, the whine until someone gives you a cookie route, or something else. After that, step into the Danger Shop and jigger with the controls until someone who betrayed you appears in front of you. Then, punch them in the mouth. It's a sim, no harm, no foul and it'll be a good energy release."
With that, Loki gestured to the class to get going on their activities.

Fiona looked so very much like her. Everything but the eyes. Those had come from their father, blue where Audrey's were dark.
Fiona couldn't quite move as she saw her face for the first time in nearly a year. She stared at the apparition, knowing in some part of her that this was just a trick, an illusion made by the 'Shop. She'd been here before, after all. But all she could do was stand, stare, curl her hands into impotent fists, and shake with rage.

And then, he saw that in the back, behind Principal Kelly, the Danger Shop had added an image of Principal Darkholme, and he lost it.
Kurt vaulted over the last few students in his way and tackled her, tears in his eyes as he throttled the apparition. "Warum? Warum hast du...?"

This. This would be fun. Loki might have to drag him out of class.
Re: class activities | aggression release [ps 02/11]
After some fighting with the Danger Shop settings, an image appeared in front of him. Himself, whole. No bandages, a cocksure smile set onto a face that his own was only an echo of, anymore.
And it was damn satisfying, smashing that smug grin off of the face of the body that had betrayed him.

"That was fun, can I do it again?"
