The Club Fair - Gym - Friday Afternoon 2/5/10

It was the day of the club fair, so of course Jean was going to be there bright and early to make everything was set up like it should be. What kind of over-achiever would she be without that?

So, the gym was neatly set up and ready for everyone to arrive and look over what new and old clubs there were this semester.

When they ping in!

Hannibal made sure to get himself a nice, plum space at the table so he could get comfortable as quickly as he could. He'd need it to deal with his BFF, Arthur, of course. He was such a joy.

Really.

"Hello, Hannibal," Leto greeted him. "So, what exactly are you doing in this club?"

He doubted he'd get a good answer from Arthur.

"Depends on the day, really," Hannibal answered. "Last time we did a lot of sports type things but also kind of just relaxed and ate and drank. It's more of a way for guys to be guys without worrying about girls."

Leto could have made a comment on how that last part didn't quite make sense, but he took it to mean that the club offered an all-male environment for those who needed it.

"What kind of sports?" Unfortunately Leto had a feeling he wouldn't particularly enjoy the local sports.

"Depends on whose running the club that week," he answered. "If I run it, we stick to more modern sports like hockey, football, that sort of thing. If Arthur runs it, we could be doing archery or hunting or that sort of thing. So it's a mix."

He nodded slowly. Perhaps this sort of club was a good place to get to know others, but really, he could think of better ways to spend his time. "Thank you," he said. "I'll think about it."

"We'll be here all day," Hannibal said, nodding. "No pressure."

"A frat? I thought you had to be in college to get one of those..." Color Jaime intrigued.

"We do things differently on the island," Hannibal said, shrugging. "No rules that say we can't have one."

"Sweet! What sort of awesome stuff do you guys do?"

"Well, you know, we knit, we talk about books, we do each others hair," Hannibal said, as straightfaced as he could.

"Oh, awesome! And nails? I have this shade that'd be great for you!"

"You've been thinking about this, Jaime!" Hannibal enthused. "I'm so pleased. You'll fit right into our mold!"

"Well, I might have been planning on starting something myself, but here you are."

"It was Arthur's idea," Hannibal said, giving credit there. "He so wanted to braid hair and do nails and gossip about pretty people."

Arthur was there, of course. It wasn't like he'd be anywhere else in the world.

He was, however, watching the hockey club with a keen eye. Maybe...

"You cheating on me with another club?" Hannibal asked jokingly.

"Well," Arthur said, shooting him a glance, "Would you really blame me?"

"Of course I would," he quipped, trying to figure out where Arthur had been glancing. "Aww, are you planning on joining us in the cheerleading squad, Arthur? I've got an in with one of the girls, I could make it happen."

"No, I believe the cheerleading squad has always been your neck of the woods," Arthur said, idly. "I'm considering the hockey team, if you must know."

"Oh yeah?" Truth be told, Hannibal almost thought Arthur would be...pretty good at hockey. "Rough sport, right up your alley. You'd get to hit people and not get in trouble. Can you skate?"

"Haven't tried yet, but a challenge is a challenge." Arthur sounded... entirely too cheerful about that.

Yeah, Hannibal picked that up and smirked. Hockey would definitely be the sport for Arthur. He'd suggest football too but footballs players got wimpy penalties for too hard hits.

"Not that I know how either but it looks mostly like balance and strength." He paused and eyed Arthur. "And I'm sure you'd say you have that in spades. Spades squared, even."

Proper football, on the other hand...

"I have trained for them all my life. It'll be a good refresher course to see about applying them to a new discipline." He glanced at Hannibal. "Your eye get caught on anything?"
