The Club Fair - Gym - Friday Afternoon 2/5/10

It was the day of the club fair, so of course Jean was going to be there bright and early to make everything was set up like it should be. What kind of over-achiever would she be without that?

So, the gym was neatly set up and ready for everyone to arrive and look over what new and old clubs there were this semester.

Yeah, Hannibal picked that up and smirked. Hockey would definitely be the sport for Arthur. He'd suggest football too but footballs players got wimpy penalties for too hard hits.

"Not that I know how either but it looks mostly like balance and strength." He paused and eyed Arthur. "And I'm sure you'd say you have that in spades. Spades squared, even."

Proper football, on the other hand...

"I have trained for them all my life. It'll be a good refresher course to see about applying them to a new discipline." He glanced at Hannibal. "Your eye get caught on anything?"

"Well, cheerleading but that's a carryover," Hannibal said, glancing around and then back at Artur. "Don't make any comments."

Which was just asking for comments.

"Other than that..." He trailed off. "...flight club might be fun save for the fact that the only flying I do is sitting in coach while eating peanuts from a hot flight attendant."

"Maybe you could learn," Arthur suggested. "I'm sure Ben'll kick your arse about a bit, but you'll get it... eventually..."

Hannibal glanced away from the booths and back to Arthur quickly. "You're being encouraging to me, of all people. Someone slip you something?"

"I'm mostly invested in watching Ben wipe the floor with you," Arthur said, smirking a tad. "Don't look so surprised."

"Hey, I could have some hidden talent," Hannibal said confidently. "Some hidden gene that makes flying second nature to me. I could wipe the floor with him."

Or not. Probably not.

"Can't hurt to try."

...He really was being encouraging in his own, Arthurian way. Maybe it was just a good mood born of getting laid a lot lately?

Getting laid could do that to a person. Hannibal could attest to that.

"We'll see," he said vaguely, now more seriously contemplating it. "You got any plans for this year's go round of the frat?"

"More sports," Arthur said, thoughtfully. "We could explore a few. Get us all working."

"I'd suggest a night out too," Hannibal threw in. "At the bar, some place on the mainland, something like that. Let them all drink themselves silly and pass out happily."

"Maybe outside the school's appointed hours for the frat."

Steve Rogers would not be impressed, and Arthur had no intention of turning the normal frat hours into a keggar.

"Of course," he agreed, nodding. "Wouldn't want to send some of the youngsters off to a class all drunk off their ass. Though, it'd be funny."

Hannibal could only imagine people like Chuck who flailed a lot or Ben showing up at class intoxicated.

"But wrong," he reiterated. "Be a good bonding experience, at least."

"I'm also," Arthur continued, "Led to believe there's some obsession about keeping wine out of the hands of those not yet of age."

Arthur didn't consider himself as such. He'd had his ceremony over a year ago.

"Oh right, the legal drinking age." Hannibal had almost forgotten about the legalities of everything since he'd been on the damn island so long. "I'd say we could get them all fake ID's but I think that'd just be more trouble than it's worth."

"Sports will have to do," Arthur decided, "With your occasional forage into the eccentric." Which Arthur was tolerating. Yes.

"You just wanna play Twister again," he teased. "I'm sure I could whip up another round of it."

"No twister," Arthur said. Immediately.

"Aww, dash my hopes," he said melodramatically. He'd just have to figure something else out. "Boxing? What about boxing?"
