Junior Achievers Meeting

Outside of Dr. Carter's classroom is a neatly handwritten sign which says:

Junior Achievers Meeting

All are welcome.

Tonight's topics include:

1) Parents/Family Weekend

2) Student Council: Academic Affairs is open

3) Guest speaker: Callisto, on having a FH Fashion Show

4) Words of wisdom from Dr. Carter

Free food provided.

The door to the classroom is wide open. Inside Angelus sits at one of the front desks. He is busy writing in his notebook. Anyone who peered over his shoulder would see words like "Master" and "slave" in his handwriting. He is also humming a cheery tune.

On Dr. Carter's desk is an open box of peanut butter cookies from Deb's diner. There is also a sign-in sheet.

He grinned at her. "Yeah, that was fun the other night. ~~Just name the time.~~"

She grinned back. "Always happy to sacrifice my skin in the name of fun. ~~Tonight?~~"

"Might be able to arrange that," Belthazor said, still a little agitated after his conversation with Angelus about Phoebe.

"Sounds like you might need to. ~~And your boyfriend might enjoy watching the sport.~~ Something up with Pheebs?" There's a note of concern in her voice, but it's muted by her knowledge that he'd be totally unhappy with anyone calling him emodemon right now.

"She's okay," Belthazor said. "No flowers today. We were talking yesterday about her moving back to the dorms and staying with me." He looked around and dropped his voice. "You don't think she treats me badly, do you?"

"Staying with you would be good. If she stays... I'm going to have to talk to the girls again." Beka's mind whirls with rooming plans and attic space arrangements and creative use of Limbo-magic. "Treats you badly? What brought that on...?"

"Angelus said she does," Belthazor said, scowling. "Don't want to talk about it here, though." He shot Angelus a dark look.

~~You're still here? Thought you'd gone to play with Logan.~~

~~Multitasking is my friend. Bad multitasking, I'll admit~~

~~Well, you know, there's always that 'and'.~~

~~You're just jealous, h0r!~~

~~Don't you see she's trying to tear us apart?~~

~~Noooo. I think Pheebs and I both would be perfectly happy to see you together.~~

~~I keep offering to make that website but he won't take me up on it~~

Beka gave Angelus an "I'll take care of this" wink, then turned back to Bel. "Meeting's about over. I'm done talking to Draco ~~and if Angelus wants something he knows how to find me~~. Want to jet...or shimmer?"

Angelus gave her a look of gratitude ~~and promise~~ in return.

He might have even mimed the universal sign for "Call me."

Beka winked and mouthed, "When?"

Angelus gestured to indicate whenever Beka was free. ~~And in the mood~~

~~Like she's ever not in the mood? First it's emo-angsty teen virgins then it's totally sweet and loving not!boyfriends.~~ Beka mimed back that she'd call and they'd set something up. She might even have blown him a kiss of promise.

"Shimmering's fun," Belthazor said, grinning, "but it could make you sick."

Beka arched an eyebrow. "Sounds like a dare. If I can fly slipstream... Worst thing that happens is I get kinda queasy, right?"

"Yeah, probably," Belthazor said, still grinning. "Well, some people don't deal with it well, but I'm sure you can handle it." As soon as the meeting was over, he put his hand on Beka's arm and shimmered them to the attic.
