Magic for Dummies | Period One | Class Four

There was a spread of coffee, tea and pastries today when the students arrived. Just because Paige felt like they deserved them after the weekend.

Once they were all settled, she wrote on the white board:

GOOD MAGIC vs BAD MAGIC

"Okay, so today we're going to talk about what makes magic good or bad. There's really no easy answer to this question. You might say that bad magic is magic that hurts another being. But if I used magic this weekend to fight off those nasty gremlins, your answer might change. So I want to know what you think is good magic and what you think is bad magic. Feel free to question each other as well."

Harper frowned. "Maybe they're being sneaky and trying to disguise their true colors? Er, not that I think you're secretly evil or anything like that."

"Oh," said Harper, looking at her sleeve. "So clothes really can't tell you anything about if someone is using magic for evil purposes."

"Then I guess you can't tell who the bad guys are until they do something evil with magic, like using it to rob a bank," said Harper.

"Well, it's still a bad thing, but the insurance company is even more evil in that case, especially if their CEO is getting a large bonus," said Harper.
