There'd been a plan for the day. One that had involved lazing around with books and popping down to the Perk for a coffee break midway through.

Well, the plan had gone all to hell, obviously, when Griff arrived at the library and discovered a pair of snarly creatures sitting at circulation in a cloud of book confetti.

"I don't suppose you'll be helping re-shelve then," he commented, warily wondering what was going on and if those books the monsters were destroying were ones he liked.

They were tiny, they knew, but this one was nothing to write home about. He looked like a small gust of wind would likely knock him over and that hair was just awful.

They kept closing in, teeth bared and hissing sounds emanating. If anything, they could help make him so much prettier.

"Ugh, spare me the breath, guys," Griff told them, turning in a circle and pinching his nose against the stench of them.

They smelled like daisies, thank you! Griff was obviously just smelling himself. It looked like he hadn't showered in a few days, after all. They should be the ones holding their breaths.

As it was, one of the gremlins, was darted forward, making to dig his claws deep into Griff's legs so he could hold on for the duration.

Griff saw the creature make a grab for him and kicked out, feeling claws scrape against his leg, but hoping his heel connected with some ugly face. It'd make him feel better about his pants.

That kick connected with a wet cracking and the gremlin flew backwards, green body smacking against a shelf. The other two gremlins eyed their friend before they looked back at Griff.

And then they both sprang forward, sharp claws reaching to try and rip away Griff's clothing and skin. They were such nice gremlins.

Really nice. Nice enough that Griff wanted to give these gents a ride to a meat grinder, if he could manage it. Punching things so much smaller than him was awkward given the way they leaped and scratched. "Get off!" Griff shouted, reaching to smack them together.

The smacking startled the two gremlins into letting go of Griff but they were licked yet. With a burst of speed unbecoming for something so small, one gremlin leaped onto Griff's back, trying to crawl up towards his head.

The other wrapped himself around Griff's leg, biting and scratching, trying to disrupt his center of balance.

In a burst of air, Griff jumped across the library, hoping to disorient the monsters into letting go. First time jumpers always got the queasy, dizzy feeling and half of them had ralphed on him. "How's that, boys?" Griff asked, knocking the gremlin on his leg against a table.

The gremlin on Griff's back? Yeah, he coughed up grew sludge against Griff's sweater, proving that first time jumpers got a little nauseous. That didn't stop him from trying to gash up Griff's neck though.

"Sick," Griff grimaced, hands fighting back with a hiss of pain to get these things off of him already. He felt like a whirling dervish, trying to turn and smack himself and the monsters against objects enough to dull their senses so he could break free.

Someone was going to end up concussed and it might not be the gremlins.

The gremlin squealed in pain, trying to valiantly hang onto Griff all the while getting himself smacked into shelves and walls and the like. He ripped at Griff's hair, trying to take something of Griff's with him before he hit the ground.

Not dead though, just dazed, and already trying to get back to his feet.

Hair loss was painful and head wounds had that tricky constant bleeding thing going on. He needed to get this over with fast.

Griff shot a swift kick to the creature's middle and grabbed for a convenient pair of scissors lying on the table. "Think it's best if we cut this short," he huffed at the gremlin as he slammed the blades down toward its chest.

Well, that solved one problem. The gremlin wasn't going to be attacking anytime soon. It caused another problem though. Gremlin guts went spilling over the scissors and Griff's hand.

Pretty.

Griff dropped the scissors and shook the guts from his fingers, completely grossed out. He thought of the other creatures that had been knocked out.

This was going to be messy.
