DADA for Muggles [period 3, Wednesday]
Today Sirius and Remus had managed to wrestle the DVD player (infernal device) into submission for a Informational and Educational Film Experience for the class.
"This was Professor Lupin's idea," Sirius blatantly lied.
Remus gave him a sidelong look, and demurely added, "And the smoke from the DVD player was Professor Black's creative input. We have an ongoing interest in the way witches and wizards are portrayed in Muggle media. Last term, we watched a film about witches." Who were pretty. "This term, we will spend today taking a look at a television program from the early sixties. Not to date myself, but I remember seeing this when I visited my non-magic grandparents." No, Remus, you did date yourself, there.
"In any case, bonus points to anyone who can sucessfully explain why she has to twitch her nose that way and can't just use a wand like the rest of us."
Sirius barked a laugh. "As a final note, next week we will be covering boggarts, creatures from our world which take on the aspect of your greatest fear. Since we learned last term that some of you aren't plagued with just a fear of clowns, if you wish to be excused from the assignment, please see one of us either after class or in our office hours."

Watch the meta'd Bewitched! [01/20]
Re: Watch the meta'd Bewitched! [01/20]
Today, he'd just concentrate on this fictitious (unless this happened on the island) account and enjoy himself. He'd think about educating himself later.

He'd deflected the question about his greatest fear in Mitchell's class with a joke. Having a real fear brought up for his classmates to see ... well. It could be interesting. It could be horrible. But he was inclined to at least go through the exercise.

She was, however, going to roll her eyes at how dumb all the people in the show were.
Re: Watch the meta'd Bewitched! [01/20]
He was trying not to dwell too much on the assignment for next week. He didn't have a good reason to duck out, as much as he wished he did and it was better not to think about it.
Talk to the teachers [01/20]
Re: Talk to the teachers [01/20]: Remus Lupin
Even if she did twitch her nose peculiarly.
But he was there, idly watching the students.
Re: Talk to the teachers [01/20]: Remus Lupin
"Hey. Uh... Do you have a moment?"
Re: Talk to the teachers [01/20]: Remus Lupin
Re: Talk to the teachers [01/20]: Remus Lupin
"I think the nose-twitching is just some random idea that people who have no idea how powers actually work must have thought up." He shrugged. "It stands out, if nothing else. But that's not really what I want to talk to you about."
He shifted his weight from one foot to the next, his wings itching under his coat.
"I was curious- And this isn't me asking for permission to sit next class out at all, not really- but... How does this 'boggart' thing work?"
Re: Talk to the teachers [01/20]: Remus Lupin
Re: Talk to the teachers [01/20]: Remus Lupin
"Do other people get to see this? Or is this something that's all in my head, when it happens?"
That was the big thing. He was fine with facing down his fears, he'd done it before, even if he was still running from it. But the possibility of showing the class meant that a bunch of smaller worries were going to crop up, too.

Re: Talk to the teachers [01/20]: Remus Lupin
He wasn't complaining, exactly. It was more as though he was chewing on his options, here.
"I think I want to face mine. I'm just not certain if I'm quite ready for everyone to see, just yet. I mean, a few people already know. People around here seem... really good with what's different. But at the same time, I can't just wear it like a sign for a classroom full of people I hardly know."
Re: Talk to the teachers [01/20]: Remus Lupin
He paused, and said, "For whatever measure it's worth, I understand what you mean. Our fears are private, and it's taken me thirty years to come to terms with what my own boggart becomes. And I still don't openly tell people, most times. From what I understand, I'm not the only one like that, and you aren't either. This school is understanding, but all the reassurance in the world won't help us move past prior experiences."
Re: Talk to the teachers [01/20]: Remus Lupin
A pause. "As much as anyone can ever look forward to potentially having the crap terrified out of them."
