Library [1-14]

George had discovered something new in the library.  Comic books.

He'd be happy to help you, but you'd have to get his attention first.

Karla poked her head into the library, looking just the tiniest bit hesitant. It was times like these when she really missed having everything adhere to Protocol back home; she only transgressed when she wanted to.

It didn't help that she wasn't sure if he hadn't called because he hadn't gotten her message...or because he had.

Fortunately, she had the book she'd handwavily taken out last week to return. She only wished it was accompanied by the balls and sass Emma had in these situations.

Maybe she should just leave it on the counter and cut her losses?

His apparent happiness to see her melted away her worry concern and at his greeting, she skipped in, holding her library book. "Who says the answer isn't both?" she asked, setting it down. "I had a book to return but I might have waited till today and a very specific library aide. Maybe. Perhaps."

She gave him a sassy grin and then noticed his odd book. "What's that?"

"Well, since you do understand, it can't hurt your feelings too much, right?" Karla teased back. "Though, as you said, the very best sidelight. I may just have to handle all my library needs on Thursdays now."

Which also sounded kinda wrong, but she didn't notice.

She leaned in to look at the pictures he was describing (perhaps a little closer to George than was strictly needed but details). "Wow. That is tight. I don't feel as bad about my body-stocking now."

[SP is always love!]

"I'll keep Thursdays in mind, then," Karla said, ducking her head a bit and smiling. "You know, for the books"

She pointed at one of the heroines, dressed in a tight leotard of a color that Karla didn't think could actually be found in nature. "It's like that, but black. I wear it when I go flying. More aerodynamic than loose shirts and things."

"Don't you ever listen to the radio, George?" Karla asked with a laugh. "Dinah and Momoko and I went flying just the other day. I have wings, silly."

She called in her wings and bodysuit to show him, all metal struts and shimmery blue fabric. "I have an extra set of wings if you ever want to come with me," she offered.

He had an excellent point about the squirrels. "Of course they don't drop me," she said, frowning a bit. "They use Craft to fly. And I'm really good at Craft. No one who'se gone flying with me has regretted it."

Unlike some red-headed cougars she could't ICly name.

"I wouldn't ever drop you, George," Karla promised, thawing since it wasn't her Craft in question. "You can trust me." She gave him a smile. "It's astral. You can see the whole island. Everything is so beautiful up high."

Henry was in the stacks today, trying to get the foreign language section in order.

This likely would have gone faster if he wasn't reading many of the French and German works instead of shelving them.
