Library [01/06]

Sam got to the library early this morning, wanting to start the semester off right. Once he'd made sure that everything was organized to his standards, he opened the doors and went back to the desk. He wasn't sure if any of the new students would be coming by, but he was ready for anyone who needed help.

Hey, I didn't mark these as the 16th! Coffee really does help!

It was midway through third period when Claire showed up with coffee for Sam. "Hey, you," she said. "How's it going?"

Raven stopped by the library after her first period class, hoping to find a Sam there. Why look -- a Sam! "Hello, Sam," she said.

Chuck wasn't about to end his streak of bringing Sam lunch on his library days (those weeks when Chuck wasn't in town totally didn't count against him) just because of Dan effing Humphrey. So he came in around his usual time with food, acting like he wasn't completely trying to ignore Sam in class yesterday.

"Hey."

"Not so bad," Sam said, smiling a little at Claire. "How are you?"

"Hey," Sam said, looking up from his book and marking his page. "How are you doing?"

"Hey," Sam said, giving Chuck a grateful smile. Okay, so he hadn't been that worried that Chuck wouldn't show up, but he was still really glad to see him. "Are you having a good day so far?"

"I am well, thank you," Raven said. "How have you been? Was your holiday enjoyable?"

Gunn couldn't remember the last time he had set foot in a library. So that befuddled expression is coming from the fact that he has no idea what he's doing.u

"You work here?" he asked glancing over at Sam and then. Back at all the bookshelves.

"Not too bad," she said, handing him the coffee. "I've had three of my four classes so far and I think they'll all be interesting."

"That seems to be the way most classes here go," Sam said, taking the coffee gratefully. "I've still got one class tomorrow, although I'm not really sure how it's going to go. The scheduling system had some fun with me this term, I think."

Yeah, she wasn't going to talk about Anakin's class. Instead, she smirked. "I have one more class tomorrow too. Modeling for Dummies. What are you in?"

"It was all right," Sam said. "I wasn't in as much of a celebratory mood as last year, but I got to spend time with Dean, and the break from classes was nice. Did you have a good break?"

"It was pleasant, but quiet," Raven said. "I did enjoy seeing how others celebrated, as we have no such holiday in Azarath."

She drew closer to the desk. "I met Andy yesterday," she said.

Sam glanced up and shut his book as he nodded. "Yeah, I do," he said, giving Gunn a friendly smile as he took in the look of confusion. "Can I help you find something?"

"Yeah," he said jamming his hands into his coat pockets. "I'm looking for something that tells me about all the crazy invasions you guys have had on the island."

If he was stuck here, the least he could do is find out what he was getting into.

"Every Jedi on the island wants to kill me," he said as he started pulling food out of the bag he brought with him. "But this place wouldn't feel like home unless there was somebody wanting me dead."

Henry was quite willing to be gazed at, though he never thought of himself as handsome ~~and certainly not as pretty as Eric Bana, sheesh, movie~~. Or you could even stop staring and talk to him.

He'd conquered the paperwork on the right side of his desk; today he was concentrating on the left side.

"Ah, you're Sam," Henry said, when he left his office to refill his mug. "Or am I reading the schedule wrong?"

"That one too," Sam said with a sigh. "I didn't sign up for it, but I suppose dealing with Deadpool will be like a rite of passage."

"Oh, I signed up for it," she admitted. "I thought it sounded like fun and I enjoyed his swordfighting class last term. What else are you taking?"

"Oh?" Sam said, trying to keep a casual tone while he didn't know how much Andy had told her. "He's a really nice guy. Like, ridiculously so. It's kind of amazing, huh?"
