Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part III

The benches in this section were a little further from the bonfire than the others. If people were sensible, they might want to keep all their clothes on over here, but Fandom, of course, has never been graced with an overabundance of sensible people.

"Orders," Triela answered, voice slightly flat. "And not just for the day."

No. Not exactly happy about it.

Ino tilted her head at that.

"...why?" she asked, giving the outfit a more thorough look. "Wasn't the point of it all being that your apparent age would make people less inclined to suspect you?"

"And then they realized that I couldn't operate independently. People turn out to be highly suspicious of little girls just wandering around by themselves. And there's nothing stopping me from going back when necessary."

The rather obvious, if still small, breasts weren't permanent.

"Ahh," she said, giving that a bit of a shrug. "It's a good disguise, I'll give it that--you do look older."

Triela made a face. "Alessandro is at least good at what he does." Even if he was really skeezy about it.

"You sound so thrilled," she commented dryly. "Must have been an exciting vacation."

Triela sighed. "I didn't even get a real mission. It was all clothes and make-up and walking-in-heels and..." she gestured at her new breasts.

"And boobs," she said, "because clearly that's obvious. You should tell them, though, that heels ain't needed to wear all the time--it makes you taller, sure, but girls can be short and if you're dressed up adult the rest of the way, you can get away without heels depending on where you are."

"I think it's mostly that they want me to get good with them. I... haven't really done anything with them before, and they're very awkward to run in."

"Practice jogging up the stairs in them," Ino advised. "Seriously, you feel like a total dork but nothing helps correct your balance in them faster than going up and down stairs as fast as you can."

Triela nodded. "I'll try that." Orders were orders, after all.

"And I'm still getting used to my balance at this height." And new weight distribution.

She nodded, making a face.

"Hope nothing goes wrong for a bit, yeah? 'Till you're used to it."

"Actually, I'd kill for a mission. I've been out of things for far too long." So she was going to get used to this as soon as possible so that she could get assigned one.

"Yeah," she said, "but a mission while you're getting used to it, sounds like a mission you don't get to come back from."

Triela rolled her eyes. "I'm still the best the Agency has," she countered a bit arrogantly.

"Even the best can be taken out with the proper planning when they've a handicap," she pointed out.

"Yeah, well, no one has time to plan against me." And, really, she wasn't that awkward. She'd had some time to spend on the range.

"Yes yes," she sighed, then laughed. "I know. You're just that awesome."

"Of course!" Triela grinned. "That's why you love me."

"I love you?" Ino looked innocent. "News to me!"

"Well, you are often oblivious. You miss the most obvious things!"

"I know," she said fake-mournfully. "But this is why you love me, right?"

"Well, it is adorable watching you flail around incompetently." Because that was Ino all over...

"I don't flail," she protested. "That's just a lie!"

"But I have all those photographs."

No she didn't.
