BWI Airport, Portalocity Port, Saturday Morning

Timing had worked in Bruce's favor this morning. After a long overnight flight from Japan, he was really early for the shuttle to Fandom. That was according to plan. This way he'd get to see how people came into the room marked "Fandom High," whether they were nervous, or excited, or annoyed at the very thought of having to go to school.

Those first impressions didn't necessarily mean anything, but Bruce felt they often gave a good insight into how his new classmates would react in a stressful situation. You never knew when that kind of thing might come in handy.

[OOC: OCD is coming up!]

If you were as nosy as Emmett Honeycutt, you'd wonder how a kid with six brothers and sisters living in a three bedroom rented house could afford the five bags worth of clothes he staggered into the shuttle lounge carrying. Sadly the answer was a lot less boring than the clothes: it started in Good and ended in Will. His family might be trash, but damn if he wasn't gonna be trash with style. On some planet. The planet of pink spandex.

The boy from the planet of pink spandex dropped his bags on the floor about three steps into the lounge (but politely out of the way) and started scoping out the territory. ...Damn. Nice territory.

"Man, and people were giving my bag looks," said the girl sitting on top of the very large suitcase that clanked. "I'm guessing you're another new student?"

"Emmett Honeycutt. Sophomore. Charmed." Emmett eyed the girl, then the bag, then the girl. "Well, yours is bigger than mine, and that's the first time I've ever said that to a girl."

"Well, I only have one of them." Which was the first time she'd said that to a boy. "Claudia Donovan. Also sophomore. Also charmed, I guess."
exspeedydotcom: (how is that even possible?)

"Are you gonna need help with that?" Roy said, boggling a little. Sure, he had three bags, but one of them was specialized equipment...
mississippiqueen: (lugnuts (as a matter of fact I can))

"Who, me? I bench press twice this every day." Emmett made a ...very small... muscle with his arm, then snorted. "Oh Lord yes. At least two of them have wheels."
exspeedydotcom: (chuckle)

"Well, just hand one over when we blow this popsicle stand and we'll be good, man," Roy said easily. He might not be in top shape but he could still manage a little more weight.
mississippiqueen: (hmmmm...)

He didn't exactly look like he was in the peak of physical condition no. And Emmett had an eye for that sort of thing. Among other parts. "Maybe a small one," he said slowly.

"C'mon, 'mano, you gotta help me out," Roy said, appealing to the inborn male understanding of trying to get some, whatever form that some might take. "If I help a guy I might score points with that girl over there," he said, gesturing toward Claudia. "She thinks offering to help girls is sexist or something."
mississippiqueen: (smile - dorktastic)

Sigh. Only Emmett could get an offer to carry his bags from a straight guy trying to impress a girl. "Medium one, then. Since it's for helping out my fellow man and all."
mississippiqueen: (hmmmm...)

"Well, far be it from me to turn down the kindness of strangers," Emmett answered, which wasn't an answer at all. The real answer was Yes, but not without a lot of huffing and heaving of dramatic sighs, but hellooooo nurse, was he not giving that answer to this guy.
