Timing had worked in Bruce's favor this morning. After a long overnight flight from Japan, he was really early for the shuttle to Fandom. That was according to plan. This way he'd get to see how people came into the room marked "Fandom High," whether they were nervous, or excited, or annoyed at the very thought of having to go to school.

Those first impressions didn't necessarily mean anything, but Bruce felt they often gave a good insight into how his new classmates would react in a stressful situation. You never knew when that kind of thing might come in handy.

Kurt was disappointed that he hadn't been able to fly the Blackbird to Maryland, but then, landing a privately-owned military-grade experimental aircraft at BWI didn't really fit with the low profile he was trying to keep.

At any rate, he walked into the meeting area trying to look cool and relaxed, even though he was feeling nervous. He should have just stayed at the Institute.

"Good morning," Bruce said, approaching the guy who was trying to look relaxed. "Are you another new Fandom student?"

Of course he was. He was here. But it was a convenient starting point.

"Aren't we all?" Kurt flashed him a smile. "I'm Kurt."

"So far, yes. There's always a chance somebody wandering in here lost, though," Bruce said, holding out a hand to shake. "I'm Bruce Wayne."

Kurt almost shook his hand without thinking, and then remembered that he wasn't wearing any gloves, and he probably didn't want the nice Mr. Wayne scared off by feeling three fuzzy fingers. So, instead, he pulled his hand back quickly and used it to straighten his bangs. "Awww, too slow!"
