World Wars in the Media, Tuesday

"So it's time for your exams," Mitchell announced, slumped back on a couch in the back of the room. "It's fairly simple, really. Pick up that pen and that paper, pick a country, and write about what you found interesting or horrifying or even good about their approach to the media during one of these wars." He beamed at the class. "Then write down what you learned from it. If you want extra credit, give me a bit on your favorite war movie." Beat. "...As long as it's not Red Bird Down. Travesties they're spitting out in cinema these days."

Chloe ended up writing about both England and Germany and the way that Germany used propaganda to keep the war machine going, and how England used their own type of propaganda to get people to stand up and do the right thing. She also wrote about how even though they were constantly getting bombed and attacked, they had still not backed down from doing what they thought was right and being firm in their beliefs about the war.

She then admitted that her favorite war time movie was indeed Casablanca and how she hoped that Mitchell would be teaching another class about film next term.
