Driver's Ed [Thursday, Period 2]

Ziva looked more than a little annoyed this morning, although she was trying not to take it out on any of the students. She'd been here long enough that she was fairly certain her knives would become knives again at some point, and it wasn't like she had anything to fear from her students, but she still felt concerned at not being able to arm herself if necessary.

"Welcome to our next to last class," she said. The Danger Shop had been set up with a racetrack, like usual, but instead of the normal track, this one was straight and very long. "At the most basic level, drag racing is to regular racing what sprinting is to cross country running. The goal is the same - be the first person to cross the finish line - but instead of driving around and around and around for hours, these cars are designed to go very fast for one quick burst down the track. Today, I would like you to find a partner and race each other. Obviously, the goal is to win, but simply getting down the track without crashing is also a priority. I mean it when I say these cars are designed to go very fast."

"I uh, I think I'll have to bow out of today's activity." Leda said regretfully. She pulled her hand out of the pocket of her jacket, revealing it to be heavily bandaged from the wrist to some of her fingers. "I'm kind of impaired."

"It's a sordid story involving a mug of hot chocolate and a patch of ice." Leda lied with a sigh.
