Yes, Anakin had tried to get in some lightsaber practice before class.

Yes, it had turned into a candy cane.

No, he wasn't very happy about that.

So a very cranky Anakin stalked into the classroom and began speaking. "There's a very famous story on this world, of the lady or the tiger. For those of you not from here, the short version is that there was a fictional king with his own sense of justice: instead of a court system, he had an arena with two doors. Behind one door was a beautiful woman, handpicked by the king. Behind the other was a tiger. If you chose the tiger, you were eaten and declared guilty. If you chose the lady, you were considered innocent and married the lady. The king didn't care about your previous marital status or sexual orientation, apparently."

He began pacing. "One day the king discovered that his daughter had been having an affair with someone far below her station, so the man was arrested and tossed into the arena. Now the princess knew which door has what behind it, and her lover looked up to her for advice. She had two choices: watch her love die, or marry another woman. The story ends with the princess telling him which door to open, but leaves us hanging as to what waited behind it."

Anakin smiled. "Your task today is two-fold. First, pair up with a classmate and decide what the princess did. Then tell me what you would have done in the princess's place."

"Do you sense at all that I am projecting my desires again?" Raven asked hesitantly. She just might have mistaken the wariness in his eyes as being wary about her powers. "I did not think that I was, but yesterday two people proclaimed their love for me, and others near me were acting upon affections that were out of character for them as well. I know I told you in Professor Sun's class that I wished for my friends to be happy, but I had absolutely no wish to force unnatural feelings of love upon them, I swear."

Anakin closed his eyes, reaching into the Force to check, and then shook his head. "No, your walls are still working. Was a professor one of those people proclaiming love?"

He'd still kick Max's ass.

"Thank Azar," Raven sighed, then nodded. "Yes, Professor Maximus approached me in the park yesterday morning. I had feared I was affecting those around me again."

For a blink, Anakin's expression was the one that used to make Padawans fear him. "I'll talk to him. This is not your fault."

Raven was momentarily taken aback by that expression. "I am very relieved to know that," she said. "But Professor Maximus is not to blame, either, I am certain. He was not himself, and whatever it is has affected Karla as well, and Dinah and Merlin and Sam Winchester."

"He's a teacher," Anakin replied sourly. "He certainly isn't required to act on any feelings he might have. He should have more control than that."

"He took no action that I would find objectionable," Raven said, surprising herself a little with her defense of Max. "Other than merely telling me how he felt. He only spoke to me and wished to walk me back to the school. I do not think he has ever been so besotted before. I believe it was an unfamiliar state for him."

"Uh huh," Anakin said, not looking all that convinced.

"I will do my best to ~~hide~~ avoid him until whatever this is wears off," Raven said. "I am just happy it was not my gifts being out of control again. That was my first fear."

"It's nothing you did," he assured her firmly.
