Sam still wasn't a big fan of Halloween, but the library looked so festive that he found himself getting into a good mood anyway as he got ready for the day. The only change he made was moving the candy dish a little farther away from himself than it was when he first sat down. He didn't need a sugar rush today, really.

Sam went about his usual morning duties, and then took the Supernatural books he'd checked out over the weekend and put them all back. Maybe, if he tried very hard, he could make himself forget that they were there.

Sam didn't have anything to share for lunch today except himself, not dirty. He did move the candy dish back though, in case someone had the munchies again.

Chuck did not have the munchies today, thank you. He actually didn't sleep very well last night and didn't need weed to slow him down more. That's not to say he didn't still look awesome. He was totally wearing the orange trenchcoat in honor of Halloween.

"I promise all of your lunch is in tact today," he said, handing Sam a bag of food. Chuck was content enough to run on coffee at the moment.

"What a nice surprise," Sam teased, taking the bag with a smile. "Did you already eat?"

"I'm not hungry," Chuck said as he sat down. "But I do have a steady stream of coffee keeping me going."

"Are you okay?" Sam asked. "I like your coat, it's very festively appropriate."

"Yeah, I'm fine. And thanks. I was thinking about that when I put it on. I've practically got one in every color though." Now there was a surprise. "I like Halloween. And not just because women use it as an excuse to dress like whores."

"Is it because you can get away with dressing head to toe in purple and no one will care?" Sam asked, with an innocent look.

Chuck smirked. "You say that like I can't get away with doing that any other time of the year."

"Okay, you might be able to get away with that, but not the rest of us mere mortals," Sam said.

"Not everyone can have my sense of self-confidence," Chuck agreed. "Which is sad. I think most people could benefit from my fashion sense."

"But if more people dressed like you, you wouldn't be as unique," Sam pointed out.

"You just don't want to wear suits," Chuck said, smirking.

"Suits are for special occasions, not for everyday wear," Sam said. "I don't mind wearing them when I have to."

"Suits are not just for special occasions." He wore one practically every day, jeez. "Just be thankful you didn't go to private school. A tie has been part of my uniform since pre-school."

"I can't imagine having to wear a tie every day," Sam said, looking a little horrified. "If you had to wear a uniform, why don't you dress more casual now that you don't have to?"

"I like looking nice." Seemed like the obvious answer to him.

"You can also afford to have more than one suit," Sam said. "Not everyone can. That makes dressing up every day a little hard, unless you like laundry."

"And yet another reason why I'm glad I have money," he said. "I think I own one or two pairs of jeans. Buried in the back of my closet with my extensive flannel collection."

He was joking about the flannel thing, holy crap.

"Hey, we're getting into the colder months. Flannel is awesome then," Sam protested. "Though I think I'd die from shock if I ever saw you in jeans."

"I only wear them on special occasions," he said. "Usually by request or if I know I'm going to get dirty."

"Community service dirty, or sex dirty?" Sam asked, not sure if he wanted to know the answer.

"Neither, Sam, oh my god. I don't do community service and I, like most people, prefer to be naked during sex," he said, laughing. "I was talking more along the lines of touch football."

That got even more staring out of Sam. "You know how to play touch football?"

"I am a seventeen year old American male. Of course I know how to play touch football," he said with a 'duh' look. "You can't go over to Nate's grandfather's place without getting wrangled into a game with the Vanderbilts."

"I thought rich people played polo and golf and...you know, civilized non-contact sports."

Chuck stared for a moment. "...we're physically capable of doing both. I do partake in normal teenager stuff, you know."

"I don't really think of you as a normal teenager," Sam admitted. "I guess that's kind of stupid though."

"Just a little," he said, smiling a little. "I think maybe you need to meet more rich people or watch less movies involving rich people. Or both."

"You mean movies about rich people aren't true?" Sam said, faking an exaggerated gasp of shock. "Thank goodness I have a real rich teenager to show me the error of my ways."

"Hey, you're the one thinking I played polo with the queen or something," Chuck pointed out.

Sam thought about going through the stacks and looking for books that weren't in the right place, but he ended up getting engrossed on the computer instead.

It's almost half-price candy day, yaaaaay!
