Elizabeth sits next to Rory (http://www.livejournal.com/community/fandomhigh/230127.html?thread=10922991#t10922991) and smiles across at her and Marty.
Rory nods. "It was okay. I left early, because...I had issues with my grandma. But they gave me my birthday present," she adds, reaching into her pocket and pulling out the keys to her Prius.
"They are cute, aren't they? And mine matches my eyes," Rory says, laughing. "Ooh. Jack's giving out presents? I certainly didn't do anything to encourage him to give me one. Nope. Definitely didn't leave him a comment to do so."
"Ooh. Silver's good. Red, to me, always seems like a flag to cops. Like, 'Hey, I'm not speeding now, but I probably was earlier!' I don't know. I was seized by the moment, I suppose. I'm anticipating any Jack-given gifts with trepidation."
"I can't say I ever had that problem. But then again, it's not really possible to speed around DC really. Trepidation is probably a good idea. He could come up with anything."
"True. Of course, the speed limit through almost all of Stars Hollow is about thirty, so I used to speed all the time just to be punctual," Rory laughs. "Back before my old car got wrecked, I mean. I can always hope it'll just be coffee, though, right?"
Elizabeth winces. "How did your old car get wrecked? You can hope... it might quite likely be caffeinated... he seems to have found a source of those sort of items!"
"Long story. A...friend of mine was driving, and looking at me, and we ran into a vegetable stand. I just broke my wrist, but the car was totalled. And it's a shame, because it was hand-made for me as a gift. Good man. Can never have enough coffee."
Rory nods. "Yeah, pretty much. It cost me a friend for a little while, and eventually was one of the factors in my then-boyfriend breaking up with me, but physically I was very lucky. I seriously need a coffee IV. Maybe Jack can get me one of those."
"Touch wood," she taps the desk in front of her, "I've never been involved in a car accident," she says. "IV you might be better off asking Janet about."
"Lucky you. Let's hope it stays that way," Rory says, tapping the desk as well. "Ooh. I'll make a note to ask her about it, then, once her allergies are all better."
Elizabeth winces. "Don't remind me about those. She didn't tell me that she had allergies, so I sent her flowers! I'm the worst girl... uh... worst friend ever."
"Not as insensitive as Dr Jackson... trust me on that. And yeah... she wasn't even awake to hear the Shakespeare, but the rest of us was. So, we did what we had to do... mocked, taped, gave a copy of the tape to the radio station..."

Ack! I didn't know she had allergies either, and I think I sent her flowers awhile ago. Oops. We should all send her apology chocolate."no subject
"She should let us know these sorts of things! Although I think it was Daniel's flowers that really made her bad.
I sent her a bear. I only hope she likes it. But chocolates are good too."

"Oh yeah, what's going on with her and Professor Jackson, anyway? I mean, didn't he recite a sonnet at her the other night?"no subject
"It's quite possibly the most tragic love story since Romeo and Juliet. Which, co-incidentally, he was also receiting from to start with.
She loves him... he says he loves her, but he's been an insensitive ass, and is now trying to "win her back" so to speak."

"Aw. Been there. Most recently, been in the 'insensitive ass' role in that drama. Poor guy. Poor Janet. Poor everyone who has to listen to it."no subject
