Punching People for Fun and Profit, Period 1 [Class Six | 10/7/2009]

Fred had the class meet in the Danger Shop again today.

"So, here's the deal," Fred said. "Today's the first of the explorations into various real world options you have for using these violence skills. We're gonna have practical exercises. So be prepared to freak the hell out. And dress appropriately."

He laughed.

"Today, we're covering something that's often the poor job of underpaid rent-a-cops. Bodyguarding. Simply put, your duty is to protect somebody from getting hurt. Now, this usually means that they have reason to think their life is in danger. Whether it's a pop star, an actor, or a politician, you pretty much become their own special thug. You make sure the wrong people can't get near them, and make the persistent idiots stop being persistent. Also, yeah, you might have to take a bullet if you're feeling noble."

"Today, you'll get to do group, pair, or individual work. You'll get put into a random scenario of someone you have to protect. You might have to deal with overzealous fans, or a pitchfork wielding mob, or just about anything. So get your group ready, let me know, and I'll start the program for you."

[ooc: OCD first, please Open for business!]

Jack may not be in the right mindset to 'protect' so much as 'pummel' but he was smiling, at least.

Elena had had to bodyguard the President of ShinRa from lots of people who really wanted him dead. This was going to be a breeze.

... Elena wondered if she had time to nip back to her room and change into her suit. Much easier to conceal weapons than with street clothes.

Claire looked to see if anyone wanted to pair up.

If anyone wanted to form a group, he'd be in. Else he'd go it alone.

Scenario 1

[identity profile] not-jaded-yet.livejournal.com 2009-10-07 02:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Where you find yourself on the streets of LA, trying to protect your hobo-haired hunky actor from the Dusk movies.

[This scenario features an entirely fictional hobo-haired actor, and is not in any way indicative of the real person used to identify this character]

Okay, so she'd run back to her room to change. So sue her. This outfit screamed "I mean business" and it also gave her a chance to stick a few guns and knives onto her person without any of it showing.

"Sir," she said, detached but respectful. "What's our destination?"

She was scanning the streets. Lots of people. Looking for someone who was a little too interested, or trying too hard to be nonchalant. Assessing clothing to see who was armed.

"I need to get to the theater for the premiere," Mr. Hobo-hair said. "The car has just broken down and we need to proceed on foot. There are screaming Dusk fangirls between us and the target."

Fred wasn't good at programming dialog, it seemed.

Scenario 2

[identity profile] not-jaded-yet.livejournal.com 2009-10-07 02:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Where you find yourself on the streets of NY, trying to protect innocent people from a somewhat mentally unstable comedian/actor.

[Effectively, being a posse member for Tracy Jordan. For purposes of the exercise, his name will be Morgan Jordan]

Jack was ready for anything. Even anything he was unready for. Bring it.

Scenario 3

[identity profile] not-jaded-yet.livejournal.com 2009-10-07 02:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Where you find yourself in a bright colored fantasy world, guarding the beautiful Princess Portabello.

Apparently, there was a programming glitch, somewhere.

[The crack scenario. Expect Mario villains.]

Tybalt cracked his knuckled, rolled his shoulders, and smirked as smugly as only the Prince of Cats possibly could as he sauntered forward for his turn.

Oh, yes, he was ready for anything.

... Hah.

"Quick! We must go to the next castle," the Princess said. "Mario is coming."

And the Princess had to be in another castle.

Elena was here, and actually somewhat curious about whether or not her boss had visited Fred. He'd made a vague reference to visiting some of her teachers and changed the subject. That was ... never a good sign?

She was trying to work up the nerve to ask Fred, or convince herself to drop the matter entirely.

That would actually work, I think, so long as a needle could break the skin. Someone with a crazy healing factor probably couldn't get a tattoo, though. Or rather: they could, but it'd disappear.

I totally bet it's actually Sharpie. :D
