Physical Films | Period 3 | Class 5

The Danger Shop was again not set up as a gymnasium, and was for this week, an olympic sized swimming pool, complete with high dives at one end. The opposite end of the pool had a large film screen set up, ready to show a movie while the group worked out in the water.

The professor was wearing typical long swim trunks and a smile as he greeted the group. "Today we're watching Swimfan while we learn how to swim laps or float, depending on where you are in your swimming." It was appropriate, or something. He then spent a few minutes going through the different types of strokes to make sure everyone had some instruction in how this all worked.

"I know some of you've got water issues, but I...was a lifeguard for a weekend and can't seem to forget how that works, so I'll help you out. Over here there are rafts, vests, and arm floats for you to use if you need 'em. Once you're in the water, find a partner to talk through why you shouldn't go to the pool at night and why making friends with stalkers is a problem."

With that, Ronon ushered them towards the locker room door to the side where they would find the most amazing bathing suits uniforms known to human kind.

For a second, Hannibal thought they were going to get out of the godawful uniforms for the day. That only lasted a second because he knew who he was dealing with.

Now, he was just fearful for what they had to wear. At least his nails had been rid of the girly paint he'd let Angela put on him.

George wasn't entirely sure about the whole pool scenario. Growing up in the Lower City didn't usually lead to swimming parties and he'd never hung around the docks so - right, this would be new and fun.

Mirax was okay enough with the pool, but she was definitely fearing what he'd make them wear. A lot.

Beka supposed this explained why Pounce had passed up on the class. He seemed to prefer keeping his distance from water.

Yep, the uniforms were hideous. At least they fit Hannibal well enough and he didn't have to worry about anything unsightly.

George wasn't sure why all the uniform shorts he could find were way shorter than the teacher's shorts, but - okay, he could manage it. He thought.

Gwen eventually managed to find a tolerable swim-suit, even if she thought it could have used a slightly higher neckline.

This... was almost worse than usual, purely for the fact there was less of it, and it showed off how scrawny Chuck was even more than usual.

Great.

Mirax took one look at the swimwear available and decided, "Yep, he's a sadist."

Okay, Eric may not be the smartest person in the world, but the idea of wearing a swimsuit that someone else had worn definitely skeeved him.

Pox. He'd be kidding, right? The shorts had no tops with them and the shirts were... She'd not be wearing that. She wasn't some doxie.

Yakko found an especially long pair of swim trunks and, quite frankly, it didn't look all that different from his normal outfit. Such were the joys of being a short cartoon character who only wore pants.

Hannibal was doing some leisurely laps in between watching the movie. The movie was kind of a retread of other things he'd seen but it was still entertaining enough for a class.

Poking his toe into the water seemed like a good start. He was probably just going to jump in next, but George hadn't quite worked himself up to that yet.

Beka'd finally retrieved one of the shirts from their other classes to pull on over the swim trunk. She noticed George's hesitation and she was a rather poor swimmer herself. Without a word, she moved beside him and raised an eyebrow.

Once he was actually in the water, this actually pretty fun. Chuck could handle floating around in the water, watching this movie.

Okay, Mirax wasn't minding the swimming part. It meant she didn't have to really focus on the movie, because it was sort of really bad.

Re: Activity | PF5

Robin wasn't paying huge attention to the movie. He was mostly just swimming laps underwater.

Re: Activity | PF5

[identity profile] yakkoyaks.livejournal.com 2009-09-29 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
Yakko wasn't swimming in laps as much as he was swimming in circles while resting his head on a beach ball.
