Driver's Ed [Thursday, Week 3, Period 2]

Ziva did not look like she was in the best mood as she paced around the Danger Shop while everyone got settled. "Good morning," she finally said. "I had hoped to give you all more time to drive today, but my instructions for programming this room have gone missing--" Along with the secret stash of good alcohol that she kept in the same drawer of her desk, which was equally annoying. "--so we will only be completing what I intended to do for the first part of the class, and that is to take a look at some of the most important pieces of motor vehicles."

She passed out some handouts as she talked, about the different parts of a car, engines, and brakes. "There are tables in the back with engines and brakes for you to look at and get your hands on," she said. "You may look at them on your own, or in pairs, and feel free to get your hands dirty - there are tools so that you can try to take them apart, if you so choose."

Ziva's distracted enough that you could probably get away with passing notes today without her even noticing.

Every table had tools, for those curious enough to tinker.

Worf was no engineer or mechanic by any means but he figured if he could deal with the basics of maintaining a shuttle he could handle an engine.

After getting a bunch of motor oil all over his uniform, five minutes later, he decided it was best to stick with maintaining the shuttle.

She's still grumbling, but she won't take her annoyance out on any of the students. Probably.

Jack was a bit nervous, but he decided to talk to his former professor anyways after the class.

"Uh, Professor David?"

"Jack, hello," Ziva said with a smile. "What brings you here?"

"I...was wondering if I could get some driving time? To earn my CDL?"

"You are going for that license?" Ziva said, sounding impressed. "I would be glad to help you, if I can. How much time do you need?"

"Well, as much time as you've got," he said, a hint of a grin. "I want to make sure I have the most experience I can, and I can have problems here and not have to worry about anything happening to the rig or to the load...or anyone else," he added.

"It would be a very good use of the space," Ziva agreed. "I could even throw potential problems in to help prepare you more." Not that she enjoyed that or anything.

"That would be great! Guy's gotta be prepared for anything that can happen," he said with a grin.
