Detention, Saturday

[chosehumanity]

"Hey," Mitchell called, once the handwavey detention announcement had gone out and everyone had had time to gather up by the Danger Shop. "I'm Mitchell. Some of you might've met me." He grinned. "You're here because for whatever reason, the school has chosen to recognise your trespasses. That doesn't mean it has to be horrible, just unpleasant."

Another slight grin, with only a hint of apology.

"So today, we're going to be preparing for a tea party," he continued, "Although I'd like it if you'd all go light on the tea. I'm more of a coffee person."

He shouldn't be allowed free range of children.

"Just enter through there and get your finest," he said, waving at the doorway, "And I'll see you on the other end."

Tea? They want her to talk about tea? Do they think she was her uncle Iroh?

"Tea," she began crisply, "is for drinking. Nothing more. It's not mystical, it's not the best drink out there. It is what it is and no more."

Azula looked around the room glaring, daring them to ask a question.

"Now repeat that," Mitchell called, "But with a little more intensity."

He thought he was funny, yes.

Mitchell threw her a look. It was slightly worried. "The point of the exercise is small talk," he said, "Not levelling the room."

"That talk was small," Azula said being deliberately stubborn. She would accept the punishment if she'd done something but she wasn't guilty of anything. She'd made sure of it.

He was kind of a bastard, some days.

Well, she wasn't usually opposed to tea except for when her uncle was being particularly annoying about it.

And he was reminding her very much of her uncle Iroh.

"No," the corners of her mouth turned up and her teeth showed. "Thank you."
