Detention, Saturday

[chosehumanity]

"Hey," Mitchell called, once the handwavey detention announcement had gone out and everyone had had time to gather up by the Danger Shop. "I'm Mitchell. Some of you might've met me." He grinned. "You're here because for whatever reason, the school has chosen to recognise your trespasses. That doesn't mean it has to be horrible, just unpleasant."

Another slight grin, with only a hint of apology.

"So today, we're going to be preparing for a tea party," he continued, "Although I'd like it if you'd all go light on the tea. I'm more of a coffee person."

He shouldn't be allowed free range of children.

"Just enter through there and get your finest," he said, waving at the doorway, "And I'll see you on the other end."

"It is! Although I'd be okay with some candy? Cinnamon sticks?" Dinah smiled. "What did you do to end up in here with stirring conversation and tea?"

"I wouldn't object to candy," Kate agreed. "And I didn't do anything, or at least I don't think I did. Survey suggests I'm here either because the school administrators were bored, or because Mitchell is lonely."

Dinah looked over at Mitchell again, and said, "I think he's totally capable of it, but he'd have to talk someone into letting him. Unless he got a hold of the school moose and had it stamp some paperwork or something. Or Mr. Deadpool said it was okay."

"i'd bet on Deadpool," Kate said. "He seems like he'd agree to something like this in a heartbeat."

"Now I'm kind of surprised he isn't here, demanding we talk about America's Next Top Model." Dinah looked at her card, and added, "Which I could talk about a lot more easily than 4chan."

"And Deadpool would probably never have let something as mundane as weather go on the cards," Kate noted, taking a look at her own card.

"Oh, by the way, did you do anything to deserve this?"

"Sort of? Well, yeah." Dinah made a face. "I was absent from class without calling in to Mr. Bond. Francine went and told him, but she did it 'cause she's nice, not because I remembered to ask her to. Soooo, since Canada isn't another dimension, he wasn't gonna give me a pass."

"So it was more about what you didn't do," Kate nodded. "Nothing too bad, then. Not that it seems to matter at this school."

"I know! Well, I mean, it's legal for us to drink here, and no one cares about co-ed rooms, how could they care if we did much else?" Dinah grinned. "Although I do kinda wonder what it would take to get suspended. But I think you'd have to get caught, first."
