Multicultural Fair! [The Gym - After Classes]

The benefit of doing something like this for the second time meant that Joan and Turtle had a much easier time of setting things up since they knew what worked and what didn't.

Turtle had, once again, provided decorations from Turtle & Canary. There was the requisite refreshment table, though it was primarily there to provide beverages, since most of the booths featured culturally appropriate food.

After set up was complete, Joan and Turtle sat down to catch up while they waited for the fair to begin.

Azula was very smug. "Yes, isn't it?"

"Sure sounds a lot better than where I'm from," Hayley said. "And Gotham is big!"

She never saw Gotham but Azula answered, "The Fire Nation is bigger."

"And that's where you're princess of?" Azula said. "Golly."

"Yes, I'm the ~~motherfucking~~ princess of the Fire Nation, the greatest civilization in the world." She paused, "At least of my world."

"I'm guessing of anywhere," Hayley said, eyes big. "You're so amazing, Azula. I can't even think of the right words."

"Yes," Azula said, not even bothering with modesty. "I am amazing. I'm sure you'll find the right words eventually."

"So, when are you gonna start training me?" Hayley said. "I want to be the best friend you can make outta me."

Yeah, that was healthy.

At the mention of the training Azula almost winced, recalling what she'd seen during the Fight Club.

"Friday afternoon at the gym. You will start with the basics. You need it. And you will learn." Because Azula doesn't associate with people who were less than the best and currently Hayley was so far from the vicinity of best she maybe in another dimension from it.

If she doesn't improve Azula could always disassociate from Hayley.

It was probably a good thing Azula didn't know the radio existed.

Hayley nodded enthusiastically. "I'll be there. Promise."

"On time, Hayley," Azula warned.

Hayley kept nodding. "On time. Nothing but what you order, Azula."

"Good." She pushed a Flaming Fire Flakes bag to Hayley. "Have some."

Hayley sampled some. And instantly began to have her eyes water and her nose ran a little.

It was spicy, really spicy. But she wasn't going to freak out because Azula had given it to her. That meant she had to like it and that she had to eat it all and impress Azula.

She nodded and smiled, despite the burning sensation in her mouth.

Azula knew Hayley would react that way and smiled sweetly. "It's very good, isn't it?"

She poured herself a glass of water. "My, I'm suddenly very thirsty."

"It is," Hayley said, looking longingly at the glass of water. "Some of the best stuff I've ever tasted."

"The water is very cold," Azula remarked, "it's amazing, the wonders of technology."

She drank the water and smiled. "Yes, that does hit the spot. Would like some more Fire Flakes?"

Hayley had a pang of resistance, but she quashed it.

"Oh, sure," she said, taking some more and eating them. She muffled her whimper with a hand.

Azula smirked, poured some more water in the glass then said. "You look a little thirsty too, would like some water?"

"Pretty please?" Hayley said, wiping her eyes with the back of her hand.

"How polite," Azula said passing the water to Hayley. "I like polite."

"Oh, thank you, thank you," Hayley said, grabbing for the glass to gulp at it, desperately.

"Now when will we meet for training?"

"Friday afternoon!" Hayley said. "I got it memorized."

"Good." Azula nodded, "Run along."
