Sex Ed [Monday, Period Five]

As each student entered the class room, Bond tossed a small, plush toy to them. He also had a covered bowl on his desk, and a large closed box.

"Good afternoon, class," he said after the last student had their toy. "Next week we'll begin going over the act itself, but today we'll be discussing one of the more important subjects we'll look at in this class. Protection."

"There are a number of methods of protecting yourself during sexual activity, of varying efficacy," Bond began. "Ignorance is not one of them."

Bond then went on to give a comprehensive explanation of various forms of contraception and safe sex available to the average person in the twenty-first century, ranging from both male and female condoms, to the pill, to dental dams, outlining whether it was supposed to protect from pregancy, disease, or both, as well as how effective it actually was at doing so.

As he wound up he held up a leftover plushie. "The toys that I gave you before are representations of four common sexually transmitted infections, trust me when I say that they are far less cute when they're rotting your sexual organs." Rather than show them traumatising photos of that, he was just going to let their minds fill in the blanks, much more effective. "You may keep them as a reminder to use proper protection."

"Now, the rest of today's class will be divided into two sections," Bond said. "First I would like you to spend the next quarter hour or so discussing both the forms of protection I've outlined here, and any that might be common in your own culture."

"The rest of the class will be spent in a practical exercise," Bond said, uncovering the bowl and opening the box, pulling a foil square out of the one and a long thin object out of the other. "With a partner, you'll be practising putting these on one of these. Like so." He then demonstrated, keeping his movements slow and precise for the benefit of those watching.

"So, who'd like to start us off."

Bond hasn't assigned you a partner for this. It's a small mercy, but a mercy nonetheless.

There's a lot of condoms in that bowl, of various sizes, styles, colours, and flavours. There's also more than could ever be used in this class, so Bond's not going to notice if you keep some for yourself. The fact he's deliberately looking in another direction is probably encouragement to do so.

There's very little variation in the shape and size of the ~~dildos~~ contents of the box, but there is a dazzling array of colours to choose from.

It makes perfect.

Hopefully you'll be able to look him in the eye while you do.

Who will no doubt be overjoyed to help you.

Effy had heard this before, and did follow all of it, thanks. She wasn't an idiot. So she was looking amused, and watching for reactions from the people around.

Look, at least she was paying attention.

She'd heard all this in classes before, but Rose never really could get over the slight smugness at genetics working for her this time. No worry about pregnancy and a resistance to disease? She loved being dhampir, dammit.

"Use protection or you're kinda a moron," Rose made her contribution.

She was being a good TA, dammit, and Rose glanced around to see if anyone needed a partner.

Hey! She got a toy! Yeah, that's pretty much all she focused on.

Good thing she's heard about this stuff before, right?

Lois had no embarrassment issues with doing this but she was looking forward to seeing other people turn red. Other people flipping out was half the reason she signed up for this class.

Effy wasn't actively searching for a partner, but was at least looking relatively approachable. Better than nothing.

She did know what she was doing, here, so at least she'd be able to offer some decent advice to whoever ended up with her.

Clark had heard a variation on this talk before, but never had it been accompanied with soft and fuzzy toys. It was wrong to like his herpes.

Alex paid attention to the lecture, trying not to get distracted by her stuffed toy. It was cute, okay?

Alex was there, wondering who might want to partner up with her. And she wasn't actually looking embarrassed at the thought of what they had to do.

Azula was turning red the more Bond spoke until she was as red as the Fire Nation standard. When she returns home someone will die.

Azula looked embarrassed and very much failing not to look it. She'd rather face the whole Earth Kingdom army than attend this class.

"Do you have a partner?" Azula demanded, seizing the first person in her line of sight.

It amuses me greatly to be able to tell people "my roommate gave me chlamydia" Because she did. FOR CHRISTMAS. I gave her the syph for her birthday.

Yes, this made me laugh WAY WAY MORE than I should have at 8am.

Kyle Reese wanted to learn everything he could while he was here. He paid close attention to the parts about female contraception, but when it came to condoms, for some reason found himself staring at a fly on the wall.

Needless to say, he tuned out and that part went completely unheard.

Kyle was a little distracted today, but he was here if anyone needed him, even if he was still following that damned fly around the room.
