Library [09/03]

Despite the memories that went along with the job, Sam was glad to be back in the library for another semester. He knew he'd be getting at least one visitor today, thanks to Claire, so when everything looked to be in order and he was set up for the day, Sam settled in at the desk with a sizeable book that he'd pulled off of a shelf. It looked like something that could take him the whole day to get through, if he stuck with it and didn't let his mind wander.

"It sounds like your fighting skills are going to be a lot better, from the sound of your classes," Sam said. "So, that'll be more useful."

"That's the plan," she said. "Plus fight club and training with Leto."

She shrugged. "Why do you think Arthur doesn't like you?"

"Oh, I know he doesn't like me, because I'm friends with Chuck," Sam said. "He and Chuck don't get along very well."

"Oh. Whatever. I don't think Chuck is a bad guy," Claire said.

Though she would be making sure Chuck kept his hands off of Sam. Ahem.

"Well, that's because Chuck's never given you pot brownies and not told you there was pot in them," Sam replied. "He's not always a nice guy, but he's getting better."

"Yeah, and then Arthur got mad at him and he and Chuck got into a fight, and I healed Chuck up afterwards when apparently I was just supposed to let him bleed or something. At least, according to Arthur," Sam said. "So, he's not my favorite person either."

"Well that's just stupid," Claire said. "I mean, yeah, Chuck did a dumb thing, but there was nothing wrong with you healing him."

She paused. "You mean, like, first aid, stuff, right? Not healing, healing?"

Sam smiled softly. "Yeah, I'm Chuck's go to person for first aid. I don't have any kind of healing skills."
