Library [09/03]

Despite the memories that went along with the job, Sam was glad to be back in the library for another semester. He knew he'd be getting at least one visitor today, thanks to Claire, so when everything looked to be in order and he was set up for the day, Sam settled in at the desk with a sizeable book that he'd pulled off of a shelf. It looked like something that could take him the whole day to get through, if he stuck with it and didn't let his mind wander.

Chuck had been listening to radio almost every day since he's been living here. He knew how things worked for Sam in the library. He also guessed that it would be kind of depressing from him in there with Dean and Peter gone. So in a fit of girlishness, Chuck decided to be a good friend and make him feel better. Which would be why he strolled into the library around lunchtime, ignoring the fact it was supposed to be closed, and went up to where Sam usually sat.

"I, uh, brought you this," Chuck said, pulling out a bag of M&M's out of his coat pocket and setting on the desk. Then he held up a finger for a moment and fished around his other coat pocket and pulled out a bag of chips. "This too."

Look, this was spur of the moment and the only thing between him and the library were vending machines.

"What's it look like?" Chuck asked, not really wanting to have to explain himself.

"Yes, seriously. I saw you cook in class the other day," Chuck said. "It was pathetic."

"Your appreciation is noted. I had visions of you sitting in here trying to eat your flannel and I had time before church so I figured I'd help you out." Yes. That was the only reason. Not trying to be a good friend at all.

"Been going every Thursday for over a month," Chuck said, reaching over to grab a couple chips. "Impressed?"

"Not in the least," Chuck said. He liked to ignore the fact that he had a conscience and human feelings, thank you. "I just like listening to the angel."

"I like what he has to say. Him being all scruffy and growly is just a perk," Chuck said. "Which was something I had to explain to Cass himself because Dean told him about our...religious extracurriculars."

Chuck smirked. "It was a pretty awkward conversation to get through, having to explain I wasn't hitting on him. I mean, you're right, Castiel is hot, but the amount of effort to get him into bed would be astounding. Totally not worth it."

Chuck raised an eyebrow. "That's a human's body he's in. I'm fairly sure it works. And, before you ask, yeah, I'd totally still sleep with him knowing that's not his body."

He was getting to know Sam so well.

"Yeah, because something being wrong has stopped me before," Chuck said, rolling his eyes.

"I wouldn't be too sure about that." He had done some pretty terrible things back in New York. "Anyway, it's not like it matters because trying to nail him is an exercise in futility."
