The Cafeteria, lunch

Dinah had done another look around the theater before she left last night, then checked every place she could think where Edward might be in the dorms (he wasn't hiding behind the washers).

Now she was investigating the food in the cafeteria, waiting on Priestly and Adora, and deciding that Luke's was definitely better.

"Hmm," Bobby mused. "The deck, maybe? We could lean up against the side of the building with our hands in our pockets and look all intimidating."

Chortling, Dinah said, "Right! And ask people, 'were you going to come out here?' all menacing to people who wanted to be on the deck, and then mess with their heads by telling them we liked them, they could stay."

"But only so long as they promised not to spread around the fact that we were going soft on people," Bobby nodded. "Gotta keep up our reps, you know."

"Exactly," Dinah beamed at him. "Our facade of totally overwhelming malice must be maintained!"

"Does our gang-club have a name?" Bobby mused. "Or are we too cool for that?"

"Well, we can't just call it 'People Who Want to Wear Leather and Look Cool.' It's too long," Dinah said, grinning as she slurped her drink. "Hmm. The Nonchalants? Fake Bad Instigators? FBI?"

"Ooh, FBI. I like that one," Bobby nodded. "So we can talk about it and people would have no idea what we really mean. And, hmm, who else should we invite? Tony maybe?" Look at him go with the cleverly working him into conversation, there.

"Of course! Tony is totally badass! You've met him, hunh?" Dinah snickered, and leaned forward on her elbows. "Plus being one of my best friends here. He'll look great in leather. And he already has the eyebrow ring. And probably the boots."

Bobby nodded. "I met him at the picnic! He's totally badass. And he told me I should talk to you. Uh- not about making a club." He felt that needed to be clarified.

"Ummm okay?" Dinah gave him a clueless look. "About what? Jumping off the roof, maybe?"

Because Tony totally would.

"...You can do that here?" Bobby asked, momentarily sidetracked, because cool.

"Well, no one's stopped us yet?" Dinah grinned. "Rappeling is awesome. Triela and I and some others have done it a couple times. Parker, Claire. I was going to invite Jak next time. You can come too!"

"Sweet," Bobby grinned. "But no, that wasn't it. He um- mentioned something about you being a mu- metahuman?"

Dinah blinked at the course-correction from mu- to metahuman, then nodded. "Yeah, I am." She gave him a curious look. "Telekinesis, and touch-telepathy." She looked over at the salt and pepper shakers, and grinned, held out her hand, and they zipped to her fingers. "You know someone else who is?"

Well, he did, and he resisted the urge to comment on how her powers were sorta like Jean's. "Yeah, me. I mean, I can't do the mind-movey thing," telekinesis, Bobby, she just said it. "But I have powers."

"Ooo! Show me?" Dinah asked, sounding five. "I mean, if you can. If it's precognition or something, I get that that's not do-able."

"Precowha?" Bobby frowned. "I don't think it's that, no," he shook his head. And glanced around quickly before holding up one arm and drawing the moisture in the air around it, forming his ice-armor.

Dinah's jaw dropped a second, as her eyes went round. "Whoooooooa. Does that-- how are you doing that? Where is the ice coming from?" She tilted her head, reaching out for his hand, then stopped. "Can I touch it?"

"There's moisture in the air everywhere," Bobby told her. "I just take it and cool it down. And sure, if you want," he held out his hand towards her.

Dinah reached out to touch, intrigued, and grinned at how the ice around his fingers was almost cold enough to sting. "Awesome. How long have you had that? Can you freeze the whole table?" Her brain might have already gone to ice slides and-- "Ooo! Slushy?"

"Few years now," Bobby told her. "I could probably freeze the whole room," he admitted. He nodded towards her drink. "You want me to? ...Make it a slushy, not freeze the room." People would probably notice that.

"Pleeeeease and wow that's a lot of power," Dinah said, impressed, and held out her drink, blinking at Bobby. "I mean, really a lot. Most of the metas back home have, oh, small powers. One guy I know has a perfect eidetic memory. Stuff like that."

Bobby's grin flickered briefly at the 'lot of power' comment, but it was back full force as he reached out and tapped a finger against the edge of Dinah's cup, slushifying the liquid inside. "Telekinesis isn't small," he pointed out, because he'd seen what Jean was capable in a fight. And look, he even remembered the proper name!

"No, but it's hard to control," Dinah said, and sighed. "Even if I'm always working on it. I can almost walk on air now. Lift myself." She smiled proudly, and sipped her Slushy. "Mmmmm. Thank you!" She grinned, bit her lip, then lightly reached out with her TK and tapped his nose. "And that. Not that it's useful."

Bobby gave a snort of laughter and reached up to touch his (now de-iced) hand to his nose. "The walking on air stuff could be handy, though. Maybe you could even fly one day!" Jean (the one back home, he had no idea about the one here) was getting closer to that every day.
