Not so much.

"Welcome to Sex Through The Ages, class," Jim said, far too happy with it all. Maybe to make up for his co-teacher's attitude.

Algren's attitude was just fine, thank you very much. The faint frown on his lips and the fact that his arms were crossed over his chest and the slight glare at the somewhat... questionable ... somewhat "feminine" arrangement of the desks in the room was testimony to just how fine he was doing.

"This semester's course isn't expressly about teaching you the act of." Algren seriously taught high-schoolers just for the sake of disappointing them. That much was clear. "Our focus will be more on courting rituals and beliefs centred around intercourse, instead. An anthropology course of sorts, if you will."

That would be because he had no idea to have any sort of fun with the class presented to him. Unlike Jim. "Stretching from cavemen on to the 23rd century."

"In prehistoric times," Algren said, casting a wary glance at Jim before shaking his head and pressing on with the lecture, "it wasn't uncommon for men to invade neighbouring tribes to steal away their woman to make wives out of them. It wasn't so much a courtship as it was an ancient version of possession being nine-tenths of the law. Of course, the aforementioned neighbouring tribes weren't terribly thrilled with this, and so often the 'newlyweds' would have to go into hiding to avoid the catch of the day being snatched away."

"Which is just charming, and only slightly how we do it these days," Jim added with a smirk. "Just consider a nice--" Space ship. "--car the club and you have the updated version. But today we thought it would be fun for you to try out this method the old way."

That would be why there was a nice pile of foam bats waiting for the students to use.

"Introductions," Algren said, allowing himself a moment to look amused in spite of himself. "Name, class, where you'd run off to after stealing your prize away from the neighbouring tribe. And then pick up a bat, pair off, and practise your courting technique."

Teaching jobs on this island seriously existed for the sole purpose of entertaining the teachers, and fie upon any who ever dared suggest otherwise.

"Yeah, it's pretty awesome," Tony said. "You guys get any kind of weird stuff in your Louisiana?"

"You consider vampires weird?" he asked.

"You have vampires?" Tony asked.

"A whole god damn population of 'em," he replied, none too happy about saying so.

"I'm guessing you're not a fan," Tony said. "Do people know about them?"

"Fuck no I ain't. But yeah. They're legalized right," he said, still disgusted. "They have this synthetic blood they drink so don't feed off humans. Which is a fuckin' lie. People go missin' all the time and ain't no one to blame but them dead mother fuckers."

He didn't realize the potty that was his mouth. No.

"How do you know it's the vampires' fault?" Tony demanded. "People go missing for all sorts of reasons."

"Not in Bon Temps," he replied, sure of himself.

"Has anyone proved it's vampires?"

Jason eyed this guy. "Proof enough on the victims. They's had them fang marks," and he demonstrated with two fingers to his neck, then moved down to indicate his inner thigh. "Right here too." And he wouldn't get into how he knew all that neither.

"... oh," Tony said. That did sound convincing. "Drained of blood?"

"This is a nasty conversation. I ain't discussin' it," he said. More because, well, because he wasn't that's all.

"Okay," Tony said. "Should I bash you over the head or you wanna do me?"

"You know how dirty that sounds, right?"

"I mean the second part of that."

Tony smirked. "Yeah, guess so. But I'm not a caveman. You wanna do me, better buy me a drink first."

Jason raised his brows and felt his cheeks grow warm.

"...there's places 'round here where we can drink? Like legally and shit?"

"The bar doesn't card," Tony told him.

"There's jest one?" Fuck yeah! Beer beer and more beer.

"Yeah, Caritas," Tony said. "Wanna go check it out? Maybe Thursday? I'm working on the play that night, but I could go after, if you're up for something late."

"Hell yeah," he answered, grinning. "That sounds jest fine. If it's the only bar in town, it should be easy to find."

"Cool," Tony said. "Meet you there at ~~handwavy~~ time on Thursday, then?"

"See ya there, Tony," he replied. "And plan on stayin' late."
