Yup. There was still food. And tables. Nothing new about any of that, sadly. But maybe there would be shirtlessness? One can always hope, ya know. Dream big.

"Jonas, hello," he said, storing another name up so he'd remember. Growing his memory slowly but these memories would stay this time. "You're not new, then?"

"Not very," she admitted. "I've been here for a bit over a year now, and you do get used to e-everything eventually."

"That's what I've been told," he said even if he thought it would take him a long time and a lot of perseverance to get used to things. "I'm hopeful."

Her laugh was soft and kindly meant.

"This is a lot different than wh-what you're used to then?"

"To put it mildly," he answered with a small nod. "I'm very overwhelmed right now."

"It's safe enough," she said, "at least it sh-should be for a while."

"For awhile?" he asked, nerves flaring right up again.

She flushed.

"I misspoke," she said firmly, not willing to go into invasions and such for him right now. Didn't want to upset him. "Forgive m-me."

"I forgive you," he answered, unsure of why he was forgiving her but she'd offered and he'd always accept those. "I misspeak a lot. It comes with the territory, I believe."

"The territory of speaking?" she wondered.

The question made him wonder if his slang had been wrong. He'd already debated using it and now he was wondering if he should just stop.

"Ah, no, I meant...it was slang, I think," he said, flushing himself. "Misspeaking comes with not knowing the meanings of a lot of things."

"Ahh," she said, nodding. "Th-that makes more sense. At least it is something that is fixable."

"Hopefully," he said, not willing to commit to anything that monumental yet. "I'm trying though."
