"I forgive you," he answered, unsure of why he was forgiving her but she'd offered and he'd always accept those. "I misspeak a lot. It comes with the territory, I believe."

The question made him wonder if his slang had been wrong. He'd already debated using it and now he was wondering if he should just stop.

"Ah, no, I meant...it was slang, I think," he said, flushing himself. "Misspeaking comes with not knowing the meanings of a lot of things."
