Rather than fly from Philadelphia to Baltimore, Eric's parents had given him a lift. They had offered to drive him directly to the school, but he told them he would rather meet the group at the airport and take the shuttle. That way he'd get an early glimpse at all the hot girls he was sure would be going to his new school.

So now he was relaxing in the lounge, drinking a soda and waiting. It wasn't going to college, but it would do.

Didi shrugged. "I don't read minds, but if something kills people, I know about it, yeah. It's part of the job."

She offered a hand. "Call me Didi?"

"Didi," he repeated, shaking her hand. "I'm Clark Kent, but I'm betting you knew that if you knew what makes me sick." He still wasn't sure he could die.

Didi shook her head. "I'm just a little piece of Death. I'd know your name if we were at the beginning or the end, and I might know little weird things like if you like honey in your coffee. But I'm not -- I can't do everything right now."

She was mortal. It was limiting. And iof the name Clark Kent was familiar, she didn't show it.
