Rather than fly from Philadelphia to Baltimore, Eric's parents had given him a lift. They had offered to drive him directly to the school, but he told them he would rather meet the group at the airport and take the shuttle. That way he'd get an early glimpse at all the hot girls he was sure would be going to his new school.

So now he was relaxing in the lounge, drinking a soda and waiting. It wasn't going to college, but it would do.

Calvin slouched in a seat, arms crossed and a sour expression on his face. "This is a bad idea."

Hobbes sat in the seat next to him, tail twitching idly as he people watched. "Why's that?"

"Any school you need to get to on a bus is a bad idea."

"You never took a bus to school?" Eric asked.

"Every day since first grade," Calvin replied. "Which is how I know."

"I'm pretty sure we only have to take a bus once though for this school," Eric pointed out. "Not every day."

"Because we'll be living there," Calvin said. "Only taking the bus once doesn't count if you never leave."

"I think it's kind of cool," Eric said. "Like college-lite."

"It's a school you can't escape from," Calvin argued. "Sounds more like a prison to me. It's even on an island to stop you fleeing to the mainland."

Because there wasn't a causeway or anything.
