BWI Portalocity Terminal [Saturday Morning]

Rather than fly from Philadelphia to Baltimore, Eric's parents had given him a lift. They had offered to drive him directly to the school, but he told them he would rather meet the group at the airport and take the shuttle. That way he'd get an early glimpse at all the hot girls he was sure would be going to his new school.

So now he was relaxing in the lounge, drinking a soda and waiting. It wasn't going to college, but it would do.

Kennedy laughed, a very patronizing kind of sound. "Yeah, about that? If you think it's going to get you into my pants or something like that? Get over it. Eyes off the merchandise, buddy, this store doesn't cater to boys."

Kennedy's smile got a little tighter around the edges. "Don't do meat, sorry."

She would actually happily devour a $50 prime rib without a second thought, but that was not the important fact here.

"Do I look Hindu?" Kennedy demanded. Absolute incredulity, party of one. "God, get a clue! I'm not going out with you, and I'm not going to swoon in grateful relief if you help me with my bags. What, do I have to spell it out?"

Kennedy rolled her eyes. "Okay, you know what? I've got a hundred bucks in my pocket. If I thought there was a clue store next to the Brookstone in this airport, I'd give it to you to go buy one."

"Wow." Kennedy could not possibly stop staring at him in utter disbelief. "How many times did you get dropped on your head as a baby?"

"Yeah. So not surprised." The look on her face? Not all that different from one you might give your shoe after you stepped in something...unpleasant at the park.
