BWI Portalocity Terminal [Saturday Morning]

Rather than fly from Philadelphia to Baltimore, Eric's parents had given him a lift. They had offered to drive him directly to the school, but he told them he would rather meet the group at the airport and take the shuttle. That way he'd get an early glimpse at all the hot girls he was sure would be going to his new school.

So now he was relaxing in the lounge, drinking a soda and waiting. It wasn't going to college, but it would do.

Cal dropped his bags at his feet (the typewriter case more gently than the others), and tucked his hair behind his ears, grinning a bit. For, in this crowd, he had something very few others did, and that was knowledge. He knew what he was getting into and they didn't, not necessarily, and he felt almost superior and wanted to call out that he had the knowledge and grandstand as something big returning to Fandom Island.

Of course, he didn't. He was just going to stand there, light up a cigarette, and people watch quietly, while entertaining thoughts of doing that. And being more excited than he'll admit to see some of his friends again.

"You're about decade too late with that," Cal said with a grin, and a requisite toss of the hair behind his shoulders. "Try 1977. And you look like you've only got a few inches to go yourself."

Well, it was a newbie, so Cal pretty much expected it to be taken like that, anyway.

"It's not bad," he allowed. "It looks a little like mine did before I got lazy about cutting it."

Cal shrugged, and then ran a hand through the new mane, shaking it out a little.

"Do you know how hard it is to find barbers in Turkey? You'd get lazy about it, too."

There was a good, long pause.

Funny how he was just talking to Kennedy about this place being all kind of special, really.

"Not the food," he explained. "The country. You know. Turkey. Over by Greece?"
