Today was the last day of class and Loki's last day of teaching for a long while, at least. He'd be leaving all that up to the non lazier ones come fall. For now, there was just one last time to get to torment his students.

"Good morning," he began exuberantly. "You all made it to the last fucking class of the term. Now, now, don't cry. I'm sure we'll see each other again. And, if you don't, well, I'm sure we'll all live. Now, I'd thought of planning some super hard final just to piss everyone off but I just couldn't make myself plan something hard like that."

That would have meant he'd have to pay attention or grade something and he was just too fucking lazy to do that on the last day of class.

"So, instead, I'm going to assign each of you an individual situation," he decided. "Could be anything and I want you to tell me how you'd solve that little quirk or, if you can't solve it, how you'd deal with it. You can use things we've learned this semester or you can make up your own fucking way. This is just to see how you do with things on the fly. Let's get started."

Oh, the quirks he'd devised. His brain was fucking awesome.

"In this instance, it is," he said, amused by Edward's reaction. "Come on, it's not so bad."

"Truly it is!"

He could not fathom not singing!

"What shall I do for joy?"

"There's nothing else that makes you happy?" Loki asked dubiously.

Blink.

"Adora?" And... "Sometimes I punch Hannibal."

"And do you need to sing to do that?" he wondered.

Edward was... well he was thinking, and it was confusing if he had to admit it. It also hurt his head to imagine his lovely voice silenced. It was a great upset of epic proportions.

He sniffed. "Adora loves my voice lifted in song! I should hate to upset her. Hannibal does not appreciate the joy! Punching him does not require singing, no."

"Edward, you know this isn't for real, right?" Loki checked.

He cocked his head. "Truly?" he asked in a near whisper.

"I promise," he said. "This is just a scenario to see how you handle it."

"OH!" He beamed wide. "Then I shall have to say I would not handle it very well!"

"Okay," he laughed, shaking his head. "That's good, Edward. Good answer. You can keep singing. I'm not taking that away."

"What an excelllent teacher you are! I have learned much, ah-hah!" Just don't ask him what he's learned. "Did you wish for me to sing? Now?"

What the hell, it was the last class.

"Go for it," he said, laughing.

Edward sucked in a deep breath, overly thrilled with the idea of being able to sing in class!

And of course he preeeened as he took up his princely pose, hand to hip, and opened his mouth to sing a glorious song! Ahhh, it was delightful joy!

Why yes, it was his favorite: True love's kiss!

The kid wasn't half bad and, once he'd finished, Loki gave him a sincere round of applause.

"Very nice," he said and laughed. "I can see why not singing would be bad for you. Very nice."

His cheeks turned warm from the compliment. "Thank you, sir Loki!"

Loki was no longer a foul speaking peasant in Edward's mind.

With a nod, Loki moved onto the next student.
