Creative Writing [Tuesday, 5th Period]

Rick was visibly excited as the class entered the room. Seats were set up in a semi-circle facing a central chair.

"Afternoon, kids," Rick said cheerfully as he stragglers arrived. "I trust you're all ready to present your stories to the rest of the class. If not, you've got the next ten minutes to get yourselves ready."

Gesturing to the central seat, he continued. "Each of you is going to take a turn to read out your story and the rest of you are going to listen politely, which means no writing, talking, or goofing off. At the end of the class, you'll have a chance to mingle and comment on each other's work. There will be pizza."

He clapped his hands together. "So who wants to go first?"

Re: Present Your Stories: Alice Liddell - CW [Week Seven]

Alice's story started with a man named Gerald, who -- through no fault of his own -- woke up one day as a tennis ball. He was used by his family for a rousing game of doubles, and carried around by the dog until he was dropped in the yard. He tried to roll to safety, only to fall into a hedgehog-hole and meet a very lovely hedgehog. He and the hedgehog fell in love, and were to be married in the spring, but, sadly, Gerald woke up the next morning, perfectly himself again, with one leg stuck in the hedgehog-hole.

A week later, he sprouted quills, but they all fell out after a month or two. And strangely, Gerald missed them once they were gone.

He tried visiting the hedgehog-hole and reconnecting with his ladylove, but it just wasn't the same.
