There were only two boxes out on the tables today.

"Today," Reid said, as the class assembled. "Today I thought we'd try something a little more complicated. Today," he continued, gesturing to the two boxes. "Risk itself is a relative newcomer, compared to the other games we've done so far, but as a war game, it's part of a tradition that goes back... that goes back as far as war itself does. Many of the games we play in modern times are in essence war games - the simulated and highly stylised battlefield of chess, for example. Risk is just more blatant about being what it is.

"The rules of the game should be in each box. If either is missing a set, or there's something you don't understand, come to me and I'll explain it, but part of learning about board games is learning how to read the directions." He flashed the class a quick smile, before sitting down at his desk.

He couldn't help it. His breath came out in a snort and he had to hold a fist over his mouth to keep from laughing.

"Reid, if being a woman isn't too freaky for me, than looking at me being a woman shouldn't be too hard. Come on, man, you can do this."

"I guess, it's just. Unsettling."

He paused.

"...What's it like?"

"Unbalancing," he said without gesturing anywhere, "and the hair is really irritating."

Smirk.

"Worth seeing your face, though. I thought you were gonna drop your coffee."

"I finished my coffee," Reid points out. "...Though I could use another."

"You wanna go out for coffee?"

He smiled.

"Class is done, after all. What were you playing? Risk?"

"Yeah," Reid says. "I thought it might be fun. Do you-- do you like it?" he asks. "And, yeah. I'd like to go for coffee."

"Risk? Not my favorite, but I used to play it with my sisters sometimes. It's amazing what you can do with Australia sometimes, man."

Reid grinned at him.

"It's not mine, either. My favourite," he clarified. "But it was a lot of fun watching my students play."

Reid laughed, because that was what he would have answered, and he knew Morgan knew it.

"Well, I really like mancala, and go," he said.

"Aw, come on, man, I was hoping for like... Candyland. Snakes and Ladders. Hey, doesn't Galaxy Quest have some kinda board game now?"

"Yeah, it does," Reid replies, nodding. "But I find games like that to be as much fun."
