Tactics, 8/13

"Good morning, class," Jim said once everyone was in their seats. "Today we'll be discussing no-win scenarios."

Shut up, Bones.

"I want you all to split off into pairs and come up with a situation where there is no way to win other than to not go into it at all. That shouldn't be too difficult, right? When you've gotten that done, I want you to write it down and bring it to class with you next week for the final exam."

He grinned.

"And yes, there is a final exam. Good luck," He said, plopping down in a swivel chair.

He missed his so damn much.

Ino thought this was kinda... well. It really depended on what you considered a no-win situation.

She tapped her fingers idly and waited for a partner.

Spotting Ino, Alex made her way over. "Want to partner up?"

"Depends," Ino said, with a teasing smile. "Do you think there's such a thing as a no-win situation?"

"I don't know," Alex answered honestly. "If there is such a thing, I've never experienced one. And I feel like there's always a way to get out of something. Sometimes you just have to take the time to figure it out. What do you think?"

"I think that it seriously depends on what's a no-win situation." She tugged her hair. "I mean, even if it doesn't work out the best way, there's generally something that you can do to if not turn it into a victory, then at least make more difficult for them to win--so you're winning even as you lose 'cause in the next fight they'll have less to work with too."

"Yeah, you're right," Alex nodded in agreement. "I think as long as you're able to do something, no matter how small it may be, it can still end up turning in your favor."

She paused, trying to think of a no-win situation to use as an example. "Have you ever experienced a no-win situation? I honestly can't think of any to try and work off of," Alex shook her head.

Ino... made a face.

Sure, she could think of several. But seriously not bringing them up which meant she actually had to think about her answer.

"Not anything that involves danger," she said.
