Sam had nearly woken up late, Scout had been in some kind of terrible dog mood on their morning walk, the radio had done nothing to curb his concern that Chuck had caused serious emotional damage to Rachel, and everything seemed determined to remind him that there were only two weeks of summer left.

Oh, and he still had pink and gold glitter in his hair. This was not the start to a good day.

Sam threw himself into getting the library cleaned up, even though it didn't really need it.

Like last week, Sam had gotten a piece of apple pie for Dean for lunch. At least one thing had managed to go right this morning.

Sam was back in his chair with a book, but he wasn't getting very far into it.

Blargh, there will be slowplay this morning while I am at the dentist. :(

Serious emotional damage? Why no, she was fine, absolutely fine. Really! And she had books to return to the library. Convenient, that.

So after meditating on the roof and talking to Joan, she walked down to the library. "Good morning, Sam," she said.

*clings* I was there last week. D:

Peter came by with coffee and donuts. "Hey."

Sam looked up from the drawer he was cleaning, and went from surprise to a polite smile. "Hi. Good morning."

No matter how much of a funk Sam was in, it couldn't last long with Peter around. "Hey," he said, smiling softly.

"How's it going?" Peter asked.

"I have books to return," Raven said, setting them on the counter. "How are you this morning?"

"Oh, okay," Sam said, remembering that yes, he had a job to do. "I'm okay. How are you doing?"

"I am well, thank you," she said. "The morning was pleasant enough that I was able to go up on the roof and meditate. It is difficult to do so when the weather is too hot and humid."

"A lot better now," Sam said. "How's your day been?"

"Not as bad as yours, it sounds like," Peter said. "What's up?"

Sam shook his head. "Nothing, I'm just ~~PMSing~~ not in a great mood. We're halfway through August," he said. "Almost."

"That's definitely not a fun topic to talk about," Peter agreed.

"Is it better to meditate outside than inside?" Sam asked. "I don't meditate enough to really know."

"No, it's really not," Sam said. "I'm kind of hoping ignoring it will make it not happen."

Dean had a sixth sense for pie or so it seemed because he perked up immediately after coming in and taking his usual seat. "You got dessert there, Sammy?"

"It is just a matter of personal preference," Raven said. "I find nature to be soothing."

"Maybe," Sam said with a smirk. "Have you been good?"

"Especially after a rough time, maybe?" Sam asked.

"The other Fandom was very difficult for me," Raven agreed quietly. "The concentration of pain and despair overwhelmed me."

"I hated it there too," Sam said. "I've been trying to use the experience to remind myself that nothing here can be that bad."
