Today's topic: What do you think are the ideal characteristics for an ambassador to have?

Ah. Well, those are the traits that come most quickly to mind. Why are these traits important...

Well, one must be patient when dealing diplomatically with members of other cultures. Acting, or speaking, rashly could lead to a potentially damaging misunderstanding. Perserverance is important as dealings with beings whose differences are such that someone trained in diplomacy is called for rarely end quickly. And, of course, one must be convinced of one's own standpoint in order to defend or advise it to someone else.
