Diplomacy

We all have a big weekend a head of us... and even if you don't, I'll keep it simple.

Today's topic: What do you think are the ideal characteristics for an ambassador to have?

Empathy, first and foremost. I also think that an ambassador should have knowledge and understanding of both his or her own culture and the one to whom he or she is an ambassador.

I suppose a good ambassador needs to be communicative, friendly, intelligent and have a good perception. But I think he most of all needs to be patient.

"Intelligence, empathy, discernment, and a very even temper. A pleasant manner probably doesn't hurt either."

Patience, non-judgementalism (yeah, that can be a word, right?), a good poker face and a clear understanding of what each side has to offer and what they need.

Compassion, devotion, a clear head... Also, the ability to lie without looking like you're lying, and spies everywhere.

Patience. Perserverance. Conviction... Um. How many would you like us to consider, Professor?
