Driver's Ed [Thursday, Week 5, Period 5]

"Good afternoon," Ziva said, greeting the students as they assembled in the Danger Shop. The racetrack was gone today, replaced with, of all things, a bumper car arena.

"I am aware that this weekend was highly unpleasant for many of you, and so I decided that a stress-relieving activity might be best for today," she said. "If any of you require someone with whom to speak about the last week, I would certainly be happy to listen. Otherwise, enjoy yourselves here. This is not all for fun though. Learning how to drive in close proximity with other vehicles and avoid oncoming collisions will serve you well for the final class. Try to keep those things in mind while you are crashing into each other." Surely, they could multitask a little.

Alex slid into the green car and took a few spins to get used to everything before taking off to engage in some bumping action.

The was new and exciting and oh! look who was ramming Alex from behind?

Not that Penelope actually meant to do that. But she was laughing because it was funny.

Not expecting to be rammed, Alex sort of jerked forward in the seat, gritting his teeth to temper the movement.

He swung the car around sharply, spotted the culprit and wondered if this was payback for so long ago. Regardless if it was, he accelerated towards Penelope to smash into the side of her car.

Stupid bumper cars, making him have fun.

Okay, she saw that coming and no matter how much force she applied to the pedal, she couldn't get out of the way in time, so he rammed her side pretty good, jerking her sideways.

This was too much fun not to laugh though, and Penelope was laughing loudly, even as she turned her car in a close circle, speeding up as fast as she could to smash into Alex. And it didn't matter where she hit either, just as long as she hit. Hard.

The bad thing about bumper cars was that they weren't the easiest of things to control. So, wrenching the wheel to avoid that hit really just made him do a donut and he took her that bump against the rear of his car hard enough to send him sliding away.

Cursing under his breath to get the damn car back under control, he swung towards Penelope, not even caring that he was having fun on a damned bumper car, and tried to rear end her.

Penelope spun around and took off after hitting Alex. "Come on! Go go go!" It was rather difficult considering she got rammed in the side by another driver she didn't see coming at her.

And then double-rammed as Alex rear ended her. She had a feeling her body was going to be sore later.

She gave Alex a look over her shoulder that said quite clearly: "That's all you've got?" Before she started forward again, working her way through other cars before she could turn and attempt another slam into his car. Headfirst? She was going to go for it...

Headfirst was just not going to happen, Alex decided. He pulled hard on the wheel to the left, taking that strike on the front left side but managed to avoid that head on collision.

He smirked smugly at her for that and then just tried to gun the little car to trap her against one of the walls.

She managed a murmured, "Chicken", before she found herself trapped against the wall.

Staring at him with a tiny little smirk toying at the corner of her mouth, she lifted her chin a notch and said: "If I can't go, neither can you."

"I can go in reverse," he retorted, throwing his car in reverse and trying to ram her again before she could get out from against the wall.

Pen just stared at him and a second too late understood his intent as he rammed her against the wall again.

"Back off, Alex! It's my turn!" she yelled, unable to keep the laughter in check.

She was supposed to be hating this guy.

[Grr. I'm not getting notifs!]

"I didn't see any rules posted," he pointed, throwing his car in reverse to smash her against the wall again. "Try again!"

[Me either! *shakes fist*]

Pursing her lips against this last attack, Pen slammed her foot on the pedal, narrowing her eyes at Alex in an 'eat my dust, buddy' way. "Oh, I will, trust me!" And the moment he backed off, she was going to shoot forward and try to use the same maneuver on him that he'd used on her.

He wasn't about to get trapped against any wall so he took her strike to his car and bounced off her, steering away from her and just daring her to chase him.

Alright, she was an amatuer when it came to bumper cars. Obviously Alex has done this time or two. Snorting, she gave chase because it pleased her to picture his body jerking when ~~if, muwahah~~ she slammed into the back of him.

The only bad thing about bumper cars is that you were limited in where you went with them. Deciding to try something different, Alex hit his brakes and braced to impact. If she was going fast enough, she'd get some jarring too.

...and she didn't see that one coming. She slammed into his car before the thought of braking entered her head. The impact jerked her forward then back, and her tongue was thoroughly abused by her teeth. "OW!" Hand to mouth, she stared in stunned annoyance at Alex.

Since Alex couldn't very well see her, he just shook off that jarring impact (ow, his hands) and zoomed away, throwing a smug, taunting smile over his shoulder as he did.
