Mythbusting, Tuesday, 8/4

Class met in the Danger Shop today, and Tyler was notably subdued. He didn't feel right but was trying to hold it together enough to teach.

"Car myths," he said, once the class was gathered near a parking lot of simulated vehicles. "Sugar or bleach in the gas tank will kill the engine, a potato in the tail pipe will blow up the car, mothballs in the fuel tank make a car run better, a penny in the carburetor ruins the engine, an egg will fix a crack in the radiator. You've probably heard stuff like that -- the ones of you from worlds with cars, anyhow."

"Today, we're checking them out. 'Additives' " -- finger quotes on that word -- "are over on the table, and every pair of you gets a fake car to screw around with. If you're going to try to blow it up, ~~handwavily~~ let me know so I can get up the shields. If you don't know how to drive, pair up with someone who does. I'm passing out a diagram of a car's engine that should get you started."

"Questions?"

"Later," Tyler said.

He wasn't in the mood to make anything destructive outside Danger Shop. (And that should be the first sign Tyler Was Not Well.)

He ran a hand back through his hair. "Did you see my assistant? Yay high, pink hair?"

"Yes..." Tony was concerned. Slightly. Tyler was a big boy and fully capable of taking care of himself and he was going to hunt down the problems now.

"That's the girl I had to go suicide bomber on in the other place." Said utterly flatly.

Tony just stared at him for a moment. "Come down to the lab."

Tyler stared back, and someone else was looking out of the familiar eyes.

"You don't get to order me around."

"Excuse me?"

"I appreciate the concern," Tyler answered, in a gentler tone. "Touching. Really. But I have things handled."

Tony crossed his arms over his chest. "Is that so."

"I don't think I stuttered." Tyler could do the arms-folded thing too, and ignore the way that other guy was wincing in the back of his head. He appreciated Tony as intelligent eye candy, but, really, time for him to run along now and go back to enriching the corporate war machine. Tyler had things to do.

"Go on back to the lab. I'll see you when I see you."

"Well." Tony just smiled in a way that was not nice at all. "Have fun."

Oh, like he was going to let this thing lie. Jarvis was going to be STALKING Tyler on radio.

"Will do," Tyler called after him, and wandered over to the table of additives.

No point turning off the Danger Shop without blowing up at least one car.
