Today the Danger-Shop was set up to look like a large plain with a castle in the distance. Bond leant against a large wooden device, looking very pleased with himself indeed.

"This is a trebuchet," Bond began, slapping the side of the device fondly. "It's siege engine dating from the Middle Ages, used mainly for flinging high speed projectiles at fortifications, though occasionally infected corpses were thrown over the walls, and while most of you are unlikely to ever need to use one for its intended purpose, they still provide an excellent exercise in calculating trajectories and distances."

"The principle is fairly simple. A missile is placed in the sling at the long end of the arm, then the counterweight at the short end is raised," he explained, pointing to the relevant parts of the trebuchet as he spoke. "When you wish to fire, this latch is released, the counterweight falls, the long arm rises, one end of the sling is released, and the missile flies off to hopefully destroy your target. Like this."

Bond did not grin as he set off the trebuchet and the stone went flying in the direction of the castle. That would have been unprofessional.

"Your mission today is to try to breach the walls of that castle over there. Who wants to go first?"

"And you smell bad, too!" Turtle offered in addition to taunting the castle as she grabbed another rock to load the trebuchet with, and then she nodded more thoughtfully at Karla, smirking just vaguely.

"You know..." she said. "I remember this one time, it was probably summer, too, where the boys actually did a panty raid. Makes a girl wonder if it's high time for some retribution...."

"Panty raid?" Karla asked. "What does that mean?"

"I guess in this case, it would have to be a boxers or brief raid," Turtle amended with a shrug. And then realized that maybe Karla asked because she needed a more detailed description than that, which turned her face a little red, but she continued on slightly smirkingly anyway.

"You know, panties. Undergarments. In a traditional panty raid, guys go around, sneak into girls' rooms, and steal their underwear. From that point, they either douse them all in water and stick them in the freezer so all the girls have nothing but frozen underwear, or they run them up a flag pole for the girls to find in the morning and be all embarrassed because their panties are up the flag pole."

"Pull!" With that, she let loose the trebuchet, leaving another parapet to its doom.

Karla covered her mouth with both hands to stifle her laughter. "Those things truly happen?" Karla asked, wide-eyed and slightly incredulous. "That's hilarious. I wonder...with enough people willing, we could probably hit every male cabin."

Karla, these are bad thoughts.

"I should probably be able to make a few sight-shields." Actually, on second thought, probably not. "Maybe I could make a few spare necklaces before Friday, hmm..."

"Cabins are gender segregated this time," Turtle pointed out with a grin, "excepting the grad cabin. Should make the job a looooot easier..."

Just what Karla needed: a bad example. Her Uncle Saetan would be just thrilled. Though Karla actually was.

She gave Turtle a delighted grin. "I'm thinking flagpole, you?"

There was a wide grin on Turtle's face as she nodded. "Ohhhh, yeah," she said. "Definitely flagpole."

Karla laughed, flinging three rocks at yet another poorly-designed castle. "Just have to make sure we get it done before you and Val go on air then," Karla said.

Whoooo, flinging rocks! Turtle nodded. "We can maybe let the squirrels know we'll be broadcasting a little bit late, if need be, too."

"That would probably be wise, just so we're not invaded by rum-swilling squirrels halfway through a raid!" Karla said, laughing again. "I think we might lose the element of surprise on that one. Though we might be able to blame the whole thing on the squirrels."

"Hey," Turtle smirked, "what proof would they have against us in that instance, anyway, right?"

"I bet you a gold coin that the squirrels would offer to testify against us," Karla said, returning the grin. "Unless we managed to bribe them first."

"Pfft," Turtle snorted. "Do you know how long I've been working with those squirrels? I know they'd testify against us unless we bribed them. Luckily, I know just the thing."

"More rum?" Karla guessed.

"Exactly," Turtle said, and grinned.
