Sarah sits at the front desk with a pair of sunglasses perched at the end of her nose. The dartboard is gone, but there's now a target drawn on the ceiling, and Sarah is expertly flinging sharpened pencils at it, and needless to say is connecting more often than not.

There's a sign-up list on the board for teachers to report those going to this week's detention with the added note, "This week's detention to be run by crazyvampchick."

Archie sits near Cameron and devours him with his eyes and works on his maths homework.

Cameron looks up and notices Archie maybe this day won't be so bad after all. "Yo."

"Hello, Cam." Archie gives him a worried look. "You don't look so well . . . are you all right?"

"Didn't get much sleep," Cameron replies and looks down at his notes.

Were you up all night thinking of me? Do we need to refresh your pillow scent?

"Oh, I'm sorry. Bad dreams, or anything like that? Nothing too sinister, I hope. Though, around here . . ."

Some of my pillows are smelling like Vala. *weeps manly* So yes, your sea scent will sooth me.

Archie looks stunned. "When did this happen? What happened?" He shakes his head. "Vala couldn't have been in her right mind to do that. No one who wasn't crazy could give up a sensual god like you."

"Yesterday, apparently she's in love with Dean Bristow." He scowls at his notes and realises that maybe it's not a good idea to write an essay on justice with "how to kill Dean Bristow" as topic.

"Oh, bloody hell. When did she decide this? That just can't be right." He shakes his head. "People are acting strangely today. More so than usual, that is."

"I don't know," Cameron sighs and looks up at Archie. "How so?"

"Did you hear the commotion with Parker and Jack Harkness last night? And this morning? I could hear him from the first floor, screaming about sucking brains."

Cameron scowls at the mention of Jack Harkness. "No, I didn't. I saw Parker in the gym last night, but we didn't talk."

Archie realizes he may have hit a sensitive spot, and tries to change the subject. "What are you working on?"

"An essay for the Tick, he's letting me into his classes but I have to make this assignment about why justice is important to me to catch up with my missed time." Cameron replies.

"Oh, you're joining the Criminal Justice class?" Archie practically squeals with joy. Archie smiles. "It's certainly an interesting course. The Tick is very . . . unique."

Cameron nods in agreement. "He is and I thought seeing how Major K! took me on as his sidekick, that I really should follow the class. You're in it too?" Cam is overjoyed that he'll get to spend more time with Archie like this.

"Yes, it's one of my favorite classes. And will be my absolute favorite once you're there! If for no other reason than that there's a definite humor value there."

"Humor's important in classes. Doctor Jackson's classes could really use it. We can subtext metaphors to each other!"

Archie laughs. "Yes, so I've heard. Oh Cam! That's so romantic!"

"At least he cancels them a lot." Cameron grins at Archie. For you, I'll even bring candles to class.

"There's something to be said for that at least. Will you bring me flowers too?" Archie scribbles a few last things on his paper, and realizes that Cameron seems to have cheered up a bit. "Well, I've got to be going, I'm afraid. Hopefully I'll see you later this evening, or this weekend. My life is incomplete without you!"
