Practical Weaponry [Wednesday, Period Four]

Upon entering the Danger Shop, the class would have found it set up to resemble the outskirts of a Madagascan marketplace. Bond leaned against a wall on the second story of a dilapidated building overlooking a crowd intent on betting on the outcome of some sort of animal fight. In the distance they would have been able to see a construction site.

Once the class had joined him in the building Bond began. "Good afternoon, class. Today we'll be looking at parkour, which is the art of getting from one place to another as quickly, directly, and efficiently as possible, regardless of the obstacles in your path. While this may not immediately sound like a weapon, practical or otherwise, any other skill you may learn in this class will be useless if you cannot get to or away from a given fight in time."

He nodded in the direction of the crowd. "In this exercise, you will take turns playing the role of an MI-6 agent, who along with your partner in the crowd is observing a bomb-maker with the intent to capture," Bond said, indicating a man in the crowd. The burn scars on his face made it clear which of the two he was supposed to be. "However, your partner managed to raise his suspicions and he's about to flee the scene. Given that your partner is currently trying to avoid a cobra bite, it's up to you to give chase and apprehend the bomb-maker."

"Your main tools in this exercise will be your wits and your environment, but you will also be armed with one of these." Bond held up a handgun. "This is a Walther P99. Semi-automatic handgun, nine millimetre calibre, fifteen rounds in the magazine. However, given that your objective is to capture the bomb-maker alive, you are to use it only as last resort, and if you shoot anyone who is not a direct and immediate threat, you will fail the exercise."

"So, who wants to go first?"

[ooc: wait for ocd up.]

Sneak in? Maybe?

Dinah waited for a car to approach the gates, then knocked on the window, putting on her most winsome smile. "Hi! I'm soooo lost, could you--" The driver gave her an irritated look, waving his arm, then froze when he saw the gun she was holding.

"Open the door," she said.

"This will not work," he told her in heavily accented English.

"Open it anyway."

He did, and Dinah got in, smiling cheerfully. "Okay. Drive."

He drove, and before he reached the front door, Dinah opened her door and rolled out, running for the back of the building.

How to find the bombmaker? The driver would alert the guards in two seconds, how to find him how how how... fast, that was how.

Dinah climbed the stairs to the upper gallery of the compound and kept her head down, peeking in doors until HI THERE. Bombmaker.

She walked in, eyes huge, and waved to the guy behind the desk as he started to stand, frowning. "Hi! I just gotta--"

She picked up a statue and threw it at him with all her strength as he ducked. "--talk to this guy," she said, punching the bombmaker in the face, then the throat. The guy behind the desk was scrambling for a drawer, but Dinah had her gun out and pointed at him as she grabbed the choking bombmaker. "Two fingers! Just two! And throw it over here."

Grimacing, he did so, and Dinah kicked it under cabinet--then he hit an alarm on the bottom of the desk. Damnit!

She hauled the bombmaker along with her out of the room, and looked down; soldiers coming. Whoooops.

Back into the room, frantic, trying to think. Windows! Okay, second floor, but so?

She kicked the office-guy, who was on his knees scrabbling to get the gun back, then used him to haul the still struggling bomb guy up and through a window, then followed him.

Right, how was she getting out of here, again?

Another elbow to the face to her struggling captive when she landed, and oohhh crap. She'd totally lost her sense of direction. Front was-- that way! And here came the soldiers!

She ran, half-dragging and half-pushing her captive, but only made it to the wall before they were surrounded.

She just had time to strip his gear off him, then throw it over the embassy wall.

Then she had to surrender. Damnit. And hope her partner got the backpack.

Kyle didn't know what the purpose of an embassy was, but he knew a secure facility when he saw one. Some dodging of cameras and laying low later and he was in. He managed to sneak up on the bomb-maker, but not before he drew the attention of every damned guard in the area.

Kyle pointed the gun at the bomb-maker's head, keeping his newly found prisoner in between him and all of the people with the guns.

But there was no way out and he'd learned his lesson about shooting things to get them to explode - it didn't work so well. He backed away from the guards with the bomb-maker, edging towards the gate.
